Absolute Joke, to be honest I'm surprised it's as much as 3 are they including Klich's 25 yarder against Boro, which was from a short corner?

Yeh we got a couple from short corner routines.

Jansson obviously a threat at corners though He was only a 3 a season guy... Bartley got twice that when they were paired.

Depends what his concentration was like too and for a big tough guy he often struggled against physical strikers or hurting his head mysteriously with no one near him... or just deciding to forget he was marking maupay at Brentford, falling over and losing possession To get sent off at stoke and cost us at home to Norwich. Or missing two headers that cost us goals at Forest. He was a really good player at this level but because he liked a good fist pump his fck ups often seemed to get overlooked and there were plenty after Christmas last year.

Might explain why those big premier bids never materialised.

So Charlton score from every 12 corners while we score one from every 70. How the hell has that problem not been addressed? We were saying on here in early season that corners (in fact, any set pieces) are virtually a waste of time and that the manager should take a different approach, like taking short corners and passing it in to the box. These stats are even more damning than I suspected and make me wonder how far ahead, with a respectable scoring percentage rate, we could have been. Someone send these stats to Bielsa, quick!

Things like this are firmly in Bielsa’s lap, world class coach should be addressing such glaring anomaly.

He can;t make the players any taller though... which is what this is about. He picks ball players over big lumps, being weak at set pieces is a bi-product of that.

All you can say is maybe we should just take short corners.

Roofe scored headers, Bamfords tall enough, Cooper scored headers.

Corners dont have to be be continually ineffectively lobbed into box, it’s entirely down to coach to think their way to a solution to on field problems.

Hard to reconcile best coach in works tag with stats like this.

Although I agree with that, hitting the first man is just so bad and being able to put the ball in accurately can make a difference.

All sides hit the first man quite a bit. We've hit some terrible corners but i've seen plenty whipped in to the danger areas... but it's never our head on them - except occasionally Coops... and lets be honest he gets goal fever and turns into 50p head in the opposition box

As per my figs above... Bartley was the last centre half we had who contributed much from a scoring perspective. Perhaps of note was we had bartley, jansson, wood in the same team. You need 3 big lads to mark them all.

Corners are a massive issue for us... if we got a corner last season I always looked at Pontus, now I just don't think we're ever going to score from a corner..

it does need addressing, as we seem to get so many corners..

delivery too.. Douglas would be my pick to take the corners, but of course he's not in the first team.
