Are the owners completely stupid?

Today is 22nd January. We have 9 days left of the transfer window. The pursuit of Che Adams began in October and last week it was clear that the Southampton head coach insisted that Adams would not be allowed to leave.

Today, despite Southampton's stance, there are reports that a 3rd offer for Adams has been turned down.

Why the hell are we still pursuing this player over 3 weeks into the window instead of concentrating our efforts elsewhere? Are the owners completely stupid? Have they learned nothing from the Dan James fiasco?

I would love Kinnear to come out and qualify his statement about doing our transfer business early this January.

There was supposed to be a deadline set for Southampton by which they would agree to do business or not which, if reports are to be believed, expired some time at the back end of last week.

This has all the usual hallmarks of previous windows - putting all our eggs in one basket until the last minute & then not getting anything over the line.

These clowns have no b*lls or spine. I have completely lost faith in them to deliver. Seeing Orta grinning beside the new keeper the other day boiled my blood. Why is he not busting a gut where it's needed most?

Rome and Nero spring to mind. As I've already stated elsewhere, the clock is ticking and woe betide AR, Orta and "Not d**king about" Kinnear if they screw it up because they will never hear the end of it.

On top of this is my belief that the owners don't care too much about the fans because they don't communicate.

A prime example is not even announcing that Ekuban had left the club last summer - unless I missed it somewhere along the way.

Frustrated? You bet I am.

Great article
You encapsulate the frustrations and fears of our fans in the January transfer window and how business in this period will be pivotal in our fortunes. So people can sugar coat the situation all they like and apologise for the people you mention. However with those that have eyes to see and ears to hear and we can judge on actions/inaction and its impact on our season in May.

Elland excellent article, you have summed my feelings up precisely when I saw it on Twitter earlier that we had a third bid for Adams rejected. I thought WTF why are we still pursuing this? Flogging a dead horse. They need to move on we need a striker in before Millwall we will probably get one in one first February though 😱

Bielsa has been given plenty of names of strikers who are available but if they are not exactly what he wants he won't have them and people might not want to hear it but if he doesn't get the type of player he wants then hes not bothered if no one comes in, hence I would imagine that's why we've gone back in for Adam's,

So we have the best and one of the most hiy regarded managers in world football who every except Derby fans love, and yet we are being linked to Leigh Griffiths and Assamabalonga.

Funny old world.

It is great to have high standards and for the incoming player to be able to fit the managers requirements and system. We are getting to the stage though where we can't afford to be so precious with a willing but down on confidence sole senior striker not a year after 2 serious knee injuries and whom about half our chances seem to fall to.

Bielsa is and has been amazing.

But, if his stubborn nature kills us again,
I'll help him pack his bags.

And 5 stars from me also.
