The BBC says we are far apart on our valuations.
I don't know his value, we need the boost of a new player, particularly in his position. However we don't want to be screwed.
I suggest we make a take it or leave it offer midway between the two values, and mean it.

Yeah but I’m not denying that’s the case. I’m making the point that the argument had merit because we had the best manager of all time. They didn’t need to do anything. Not doing anything, in this instance, was a good thing. They could have quite easily started meddling in the football affairs, which could have potentially caused a conflict with Fergie.
Not that doing what they did was a particularly difficult decision to make. But that’s not the point in this context.
