Better of with out him , he don't want to be there so rather than him sulking he can go. I'm only interested in players who want to play for us as a club and are prepared to put in a shift.

He had some great moments. I still maintain he NEVER once turned up in a final , semi final though. He very nearly cost us a champions league final.

Good player, have enjoyed seeing him, will miss him. He certainly isn’t good enough for the Madrid’s and Barcelona’s of this world though.

Great player for us but overrated.

Best moment? Hmmm maybe when he nicked the winner in the final moments against Swansea (was it?) after being behind.

Overrated set pieces. Didn't turn up enough in the bigger games. Form since he's wanted to leave has dropped too.

Overrated set pieces. Didn't turn up enough in the bigger games. Form since he's wanted to leave has dropped too.

Not sure how his set pieces are overrated when nobody rates his set pieces. His corners are widely seen as a joke

Nevertheless, since he came to the PL he's scored more FKs than any other player in the league

Didn't turn up in big games? No player turns up in every big game but I can remember numerous goal contributions against the likes of Chelsea, City, Utd etc

Arsenal is probably the only big team he didn't really score of assist against

His form since he's wanted to leave doesn't make him overrated as a player in the past either

He's without question one of our best players of the past 30 years despite our fans dislike of him

I disagree, Spurs fans might not rate his set pieces anymore, but the number of times I've heard in commentary somebody say after he's hit the first man "Oh that's unusual for someone of his quality". I'm always left thinking to myself "WTF? He does that often!". And yes his free kicks used to be great. The past few years not so much.

He of course has had his moments in big games, but not enough on the biggest of occasions for me. I don't feel he's turned up enough when it's really mattered.

His form dropping since wanting to leave brings into question his mentality. Take Zaha for example, has wanted to leave Palace for the past couple of seasons but has just got on with things and stayed committed. Modric had a very good final season with us too after he was linked to Chelsea. I don't think you can just easily dismiss it because of what came before.

Like I said in my post above, he's been a great player for us, only he could have been even better.
