Relief at last

I've been frustrated & critical of the owners due to the lack of incoming transfer activity during the first 3 weeks of the window, and afraid we were heading down the same blind alley we crashed into a year ago.

Credit where it's due, AR, Orta & "Not d**king about" Kinnear have pulled out all the stops. Given our track record for dragging out incoming transfers to the point of the fanbase losing the will to live, I've been seriously impressed with how quickly they got JKA over the line. I'm not naive enough to believe that some spadework wasn't done behind the scenes before our interest in the player became known. Even so, the owners have been as good as their word and provided Bielsa with what he asked for.

With 4 days to go before the window closes, we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief and turn our attention back to the football and getting our season back on track. It remains to be seen if the new players can step up and make a difference. The keeper will develop in the U23s, Poveda is an unknown quantity at this level but comes highly recommended, and JKA does have an impressive pedigree. It's up to Bielsa now and the players at his disposal to deliver on the highly promising, if recently stuttering, promotion campaign.

The timing of the completion of our transfer business could serve as a real boost for tomorrow night's match against Millwall. Suddenly, it's as if there's an air of positivity, and even if JKA doesn't get on the pitch, Bamford will know it's time to start converting the countless chances he gets otherwise there's someone ready to hopefully show him how it's done.

On a minor point, the owners are now free to try and move O'Kane on, in addition to one or two others perhaps?

In the meantime, bring on tomorrow night and let's get a result to serve notice to the rest of the Championship that we ain't dead yet.

Today wasn’t so much What a day! as it was What? A day??

Some may say these lads are unknown quantities- but so was Pukki.

Must admit although midfield is still a concern for me, I'm quietly more confident than I was last week.

. Well at least in the EFL.

Can Bielsa get the most out of these players? His record with individualistic players is not great, and these two have an edge to them. He will be determined to prove to himself that he is a winner. It feels similar to when Wilko brought in Cantona and we went on to win the league. A definitive moment in Bielsa's career and redemption for LUFC?

very odd he said that Stoops?? - it was only a couple of weeks ago he was talking about Orta and 'the President' feeling uneasy and letting us all down??

Maybe that's why they were quietly hard at work behind the scenes!..

You can bet with the presses help if this hadn't have worked people would be in overdrive letting them know about it!..

Hopefully the club do things in the future without the press filling the blanks with the bull their professionally adapted brain cells are trained to do!..

Stops giving false hopes!..

^^^^^

When I read this previously, all I could think
was, poor fooker must've been left high and
dry everywhere else he's been. If this window's
work by Orta and club is deemed 'serious'
or the likes he's never seen before, then I
feel bad for MB.
