Eriksen

Little bit sad really to see his reputation tarnished slightly following his move to Inter. Nobody will forget the great years he has given us, but the last year and a half he has been very poor, I don’t care about his stats last season. He hasn’t been good enough and he has been putting in half hearted performances which is unacceptable for me. That being said, in his good years he was fantastic for us and a great servant. I still find it quite depressing that he won nothing with us.

This Spurs team for all that promise have won nothing and Eriksen leaves our club without a single trophy to his name. That’s not just Eriksen’s fault by the way, it’s a collective effort from the whole team who have just not been good enough to finish the final hurdle in our pursuit for success. Good luck Christian, but somehow I feel a little disappointed with the conclusion and the fact he achieved nothing with us as a team

Inter have played a blinder. £17m for a player of his quality

He will get more time on the ball in Italy and at 27 years old will be give them his best years.

Never quite reached his potential with Spurs but still top drawer nonetheless

Through your eyes yes he’s never reached his true potential ! Never mind he became one of the best players in Europe in his position at Spurs👍
We made a profit on him if you can count bin dipper
How’s Inter played a blinder? Thicko

Let's be honest the guy was immense bar his first season but let's not make out we got a great price or he was one of Europe's best in his position, cos the two statements simply don't sit hand in hand

To be fair Levy could not force him to leave against his own will. Didnt Man u try to sign Eriksen and he refused to go?
Looks like he was sick of England.

-------

hes not a winner. out club is littered with them. blow it at the semi final and final stage again and again and again. he is one of the main culprits. abysmal in the CL final... when considering that he wanted a move should have been a showcase game for him with the world watching. I suspect the Spanish giants looked at that performance and thought naaah

Now there's a truth.
Let's all see how he does at Inter ....not an easy place to play if you get on the wrong side of the fans!

We should’ve made more of a profit on Eriksen. It’s a profit mathematically but not in real terms and not in the context of transfer fees. £16m now will get you a decent championship player. Could have got in excess of £50m for Eriksen 12 months ago and I blame Levy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Player wants a salary of £10m pa so on a 4-year contract, £40m.
Selling club want’s at least £50m for the player so the total cost to buying club excluding agent fees is £90m over the lifetime of the contract. Let us assume the player has a small resale value at the end of his new contract being 32 so no appreciable gain on the balance sheet at the end of the deal.
Buying club does not want to spend £90m so chooses to wait six months. They can do this because apparently, no other team has entered the one horse race to buy the player and if they have, the player has final say anyway and is blocking a move.
Six months later the buying club come back with a £17m offer meaning they will get their man for £57m and given they is still no interest from other clubs and/or the player is cherry picking his destination, the selling club is caught between the same rock and the hard place it was 6 months earlier.
The selling club, mindful of the fact the player can enter into an agreement with the buying club, completely cutting out the selling club, must now sell the player and hope for the best. Levy could have put the player on sale a year earlier but the outcome could still be the same with fans saying Levy was selling off the silverware.
Levy got a reported £17m plus the 5% selling on fee due to the player’s previous club.
Some on here have a blind hatred for Levy and allow it to cloud their judgement but overall, Levy has done brilliantly.
