Manchester United v Wolves Preview

Manchester United v Wolves Preview

Date: Saturday 1st February
Venue: Old Trafford
Kick off time: 17.30

On Saturday Wolves once again, travel to Manchester to take on United at Old Trafford. On the previous visit, just 18 days ago, in the FA cup replay, United ran out 1-0 winners.
Since then Wolves have beaten Southampton away and come so very close to being the first team this season to take 3 points from Liverpool.

In the same period United have had very mixed fortunes. A 2-0 loss to Liverpool was followed by another 2-0 loss to Burnley. This was followed by a 6-0 FA Cup win at Tranmere and a 1-0 semi-final Carabao Cup win over their Manchester rivals on Wednesday albeit not enough to overturn the 3-2 deficit over the 2 legs.

United are missing their main striking threat Marcus Rashford who is sidelined through injury. The lack of investment at the club has now resulted in the United fans, home and away, making their feelings known in the most vocal way as to what they think of owners, the Glazer family and Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
The January transfer window has however seen the imminent arrival of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon and the departure of defender Ashley Young.

However United will be without Nemanja Matic who, after scoring the only goal of the game on Wednesday, was later sent off for a second bookable offence.

By complete contrast the Wolves fans sing nothing but praises for their manager and players whilst enjoying, what is for some, the best football they have ever seen from the boys in old gold.
In the January transfer window the owners, Fosun and Nuno have kept their promise and despite the difficulty of bringing in the right players at an acceptable price have nevertheless strengthened the squad. 19-year-old Ecuadorian international forward Leonardo Campana was followed by French midfielder Enzo Loiodice with the signing of Portuguese 24-year-old winger Daniel Podence about to be announced.
On the departure side Wolves have bidden farewell to Italian Striker Patrick Cutrone and Spanish defender Jesus Vallejo.

The game will be shown live on Sky TV

You say midfield but in reality everyone bar Jiminez and Traore will be in defence again.

Jimenez and Traore also do their share of defending. The way Nuno sets up the side is what makes us hard to beat and dangerous going forward. Bet you wish you had a manager with tactical nous instead of the half wit you have.

To be fair to Utd they gave Tranmere a right thrashing. If they could just get to League One I’m sure they’d be as good a watch as they were in fergie’s heyday

Gotta love the arrogant mancs with their parking the bus comments even though the formation we play is called "fluid"
Glad they've brought someone in to now make them just another 1 man team

I think, to be fair we should give Utd a goal start in the first ten minutes to give them a start.

Well we do it for all the other teams, so I think it's only right.

I get the feeling that Lil Jeff signed Podence just so he could have a photo shoot with someone smaller than himself
