Liverpool destined to set new PL record

pains me to say, but credit where its due, 22 points clear, Liverpool will lift the PL trophy in May,

in doing so they will set a new record that I doubt any other team will ever come close to.

Even with all of the TV money, foreign ownership, sponsorship and commercial deals I find it impossible anyone will ever come close to this record.

Its a phenomenal stat, 1.89bn spent to win a premier league.

to put that into perspectve

Man city 2.39bn, 4 PL titles, 597m per title
Chelsea 2.47bn, 5 PL titles, 497m per title
Man Utd 2.15bn, 13 PL title, 165m per title
Arsenal 1.41bn, 3 PL titles, 470m per title
Leicester 670m, 1 PL title, 670m per title
Blackburn 371m, 1 PL title, 371m per title

ergo Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal have spent basically the same per title combined as Liverpool for 25 PL trophies as Liverpool have for their soon to be won 1......

What a record for Liverpool, it will go down in history, no-one will ever get close to this one!

I do wonder if the referees were aware of this:

Maybe they've been trying to balance things up ever since?

seeing as you have a lot of time on your hands, who will inherit the title of most money spent without wining a premier league?

Got to be one of Spurs, Everton or Newcastle I'd imagine?

But to be fair these are average clubs at best not expected to win anything big...

Stop moving the goalposts.

Spurs for instance have been better than average for the last 6 or so years. Decent investment could have seen them kick on but now, I think they will have to spend close to £3bn before they win the PL.

Most people will agree that VAR is the only thing bending over this season.

How fecking stupid

If Liverpool go on to win more PL titles, the amount per title goes lower. And considering the spending Manyoo and City are doing, their figures will go up.

Jim’s just a bitter c u next tues because Liverpool are dominating while everyone else - including his miserable joke of a club - is bending over.

i think utd have spent 600 million the last 5 seasons to win 0 titles.

The OP is the most bitter person on this site when it comes to Liverpool's success.

Trying to compare the spending of Blackburn from 25 years ago, when players like Shearer were worth £15m. Just that comparison alone is simply ridiculous. You can even make that case for Arsenal as well as the players they bought would have been worth 3 times the amount nowadays. The same can be said of United and Chelsea from years ago as well. There is no comparison to be made at all.

Besides, who cares how much money you spend to win trophies? Spend the money, buy the best players that the club needs and be successful, that's just called modern day football. What's coming next? Can Liverpool win the title 3 times on the trot but only spend as little as Huddersfield did in 1910 or whatever it was. Get a grip.
