Right, now that the dust has settled

on yesterday's great win, what was there not to like about beating one of the world`s top clubs, and also keeping a clean sheet. Top performance. Although I have to say the usual suspects, and we all know who they are, were still moaning after the match, and digging out players. Honestly the same supporters that used to drool over cement boots, when Spurs were shipping in four, five, six goals a game. Honestly you couldn`t make it up.

And what a different Jose is now making. When he arrived Spurs were sliding down the table at an alarming rate, 12th or something like nearly a dozen points of top four. To his credit he has brought the side back to 5th, just four points off the top four, that despite having a fixture list that included Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City. He is gradually reshaping the side, even though he has barely been at the club three months, but yesterday was his 7th Premiership win from just 13 matches, throw in two or three draws as well and I would say that was an excellent return in the short time he has been at the club. Scoring at nearly two goals a game as well. Who said he was just a defensive coach? Apparently since he arrived, only Liverpool and City have got more points. I rest my case on how good he is.

You can see the team is gradually starting to take shape, and I expect with two or three additions in the Summer the team should really push on next season.

Jose

Aurier hasmistakes in him but he made some important blocks/tackles yesterday. In fact I think he has the most tackles this season of all our defenders.

Sanchez who is also prone to sloppy ness also made some crucial blocks and tackles yesterday.

Both are a bit raw but the stick they get is a bit unfair sometimes. Vertonghen has been much poorer consistently this season but doesn’t get as much stick, maybe because he’s performed in the past.

Tanganga has been superb all things considered. He’s been thrown in all over the back 4 and hasn’t looked out of place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
this...people constantly moan at Aurier and Sanchez, yes there are better players out there but there are also better clubs. Few people actually name possible replacements after their criticisms.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know, it is as if there are hundreds of better players out there. Some of our supporters just like moaning full stop. How any supporter could possibly even think about moaning after beating City 2-0, when most beforehand were thinking it would be a drubbing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No one is moaning about the result Sandy. It’s the defensive frailties that concern some people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Did Spurs concede, end of discussion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Such a ridiculous response

I suppose you thought Sanchez’s pass to the City player was good defending. Or perhaps Aurier’s daft challenge on Aguero.

Anyway, didn’t you say you wouldn’t mind seeing City beat Spurs 4-0 the other week ?

Sandy, let’s be honest mate, if it was Winks doing the awful pass to nearly cause a goal, you would be all over him. Fact is Sanchez and Aurier are 2 of you’re favourite players and you don’t want to criticise them. It’s fine, but being totally blinded by the clear errors is completely deluded. Aurier nearly cost us the game mate. If it weren’t for Hugo, we probably would of lost that had the penalty went in. He makes far to many rash challenges and has far to many brain fart moments. He is not good enough mate and nothing you will say will convince me otherwise, sorry dude.

You going on Weds Sandy?

I reckon yesterday will stick a few thousand on the gate and the atmosphere will be electric.

Do you think Southampton will go strong? 7 points off the drop at this stage is good for them but a couple of defeats and they could be back in the relegation mix.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes mate I will be there. Really looking forward to the game. I am in South Lower. Yesterday I was up in top deck with all the unruly mob.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice one.

I can't make Weds but I'm going to the Villa game on the 16th, can't wait I do love a trip to Villa Park.

I haven't been to Villa Park for years. In fact not been to an away game for years. I have no chance of getting away tickets not being a season ticket holder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not a season ticket holder either but luckily enough I know a guy who runs a minibus to every game home and away and opportunities present themselves through that.

However on this occasion I'm going with a mate whos a Villa regular and although we are right by the away fans I'm actually in with the Villa which could be interesting.

We got horribly lucky but I'll take that luck.

Didn't expect anything

Excited to see this front four for the rest of the season now.

Don, I don`t really have favourite players, I just watch and assess whoever is on the pitch in any given game. I do not have an agenda on players before a ball has even been picked.

Trippier aside that is. Oh and old cement boots.

Since we got Steven I have had a feeling we would be alright. I was 99% sure we would beat City, and maybe if I was a betting man, I would have collected a nice little win, but I am not.

That Steven transfer is a real coup and can't wait for so many partnerships blossoming, like WInks and Lo Celso, and Steven and Son.
Though we are still a little naive in defense, you cannot say anything about the energy, the give everything attitude of the players. They are worked their socks off and it was pleasing to see.
I have no qualm when this is what we get from Jose

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, I did OK at the weekend, I had £5 on Spurs to win at 24/5 so won £24 on that bet, Son to score at anytime another £5 at 15/8 and won just under another £10. Then I also had a £5 on France to beat England at Rugby at 9/5 so won another tenner.

Drinks all round.
