Mourinho speaks about Ndombele's fitness

https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/mourinho-tanguy-ndombele-amazing-problems-17690211

Seems pretty positive. Clearly Mourinho doesn't have an issue with the player, but it sounds like there's some pretty fundamental issues there if the player's conditioning and nutrition weren't right before joining Spurs.

At least Mourinho says he rates Ndombele and there's clearly no bad blood or attitude problem, so those suggestions can be put to bed. Hopefully he can kick on and really lay claim to a midfield spot now.

“ Is the Prem that much more of a demanding league?”

The intensity is nothing like any other league that’s for sure.

Bergwijn who has played all season at psv so obviously be match fit couldn’t handle 70 mins in our league.

I maintain poch pre season was to much and to hard and done more damage than good for Ndombele.

I find it weird that a player who had a decent injury record, whose style and physicality is a big part of his game needs to managed so carefully and has struggled for fitness so much. I remember Spurs fans saying he was blowing after 20 mins of games even at the start of the season. So did he come back from the summer break massively out of shape? Is the Prem that much more of a demanding league?

He said he'd never experienced training sessions with the intensity of Poch's. Idk if that excuses everything that followed but it clearly caused him a lot of issues when he was initially getting up to speed. Pochettino preseasons are supposed to be brutal

Looks a quality player when fit, only fitness issues that hold him back which is very frustrating. Very similar to Keita in that regard.

Yeah Ndombele himself said he was surprised at the intensity of Poch preseasons.

Indeed. You also can't overlook the variance in how different people respond to the same training - two people will improve their fitness and strength at completely different rates to each other, even given the exact same variables in terms of training and nutrition regimes. You can work around it with good planning, physical therapy and discipline but genetics do unavoidably play a huge part in fitness.

Just glad to hear that Ndombele is over his injuries and now trying to get fitness levels up
From how Jose has setup and managed the player, he’s considered a very important player for Jose.

Great news for us fans. Ndombele on the pitch for five seconds in Sunday and immediately makes an assist from which we score our second goal.

Keita is a flop.

Ndombele looks much better when he plays than Keita when he gets minutes.

Watched a good bit of Keita whilst at Leipzig. He is a great player - he has been very unlucky for one reason or another at Liverpool.

Yeah keita is class it's a shame he's not been able to combine form with fitness
