Eriksen

Watching Napoli beat Inter Milan last night, it was noticeable that little has changed with Eriksen.

He was largely ineffective in midfield, his tackling was non-existent and not surprisingly 99% of his corners and crosses failed to get past the first defender

I think one of his ongoing problems will be that he has personally performed at a poor level over the last 6 months, it might be difficult moving up the gears to a more effective standard of play.

Serie A should suit him though, slower pace and more time to pass.

Anyone that has watched serie A football and Eriksen will understand that even a half assed Eriksen will rip it up against half the teams in the bottom half of the division.

The big games mind you, he will probably continue to flatter to deceive.

He's been bang average in the 3 games so far.

Still pulls out of tackles, still can't beat the first man.... Looks nothing like the Eriksen of 2 years ago.

I think that having been so hell bent on leaving Spurs he had to take whatever was on offer.

Theres no doubt Inter are a world famous club with a great history but the halcyon days of serie a are long gone and he will find himself playing in half full crumbling stadiums on a regular basis.

Hardly the Barca, Real or Bayern move he was expecting but with the rubbish he's been serving up for the last year he's been lucky to get what he has.

yeah but the other 10 weren't openly trying to put themselves in the shop window for a move to Real Madrid or Barca

I think it's all in his head. Obviously he wanted a move to one of the big 2 in Spain. Now he's gone from a Galactico to the home of PL rejects in Italy. Still an amazing player on his day, but without that drive he'll be the steady 7/10 we saw from him in the last year or so with us.

My opinion, anyway.

Eriksen isn’t the type of player to win crunching tackles.

He tries to nick the ball away with a delicate little flick. Great when it comes off, but when it doesn’t you get the typical English mentality of ‘he bottled that’.
