Gus Poyet - bitter about Liverpool?

Or just giving an opinion:

"I think the Premier League, generally, has become more competitive, but in terms of quality it has gone down.

Liverpool were not at their best against Norwich the other day but they still managed to win and will go on to win the Premier League this year quite easily, we can say.

The rest? Man City are having a difficult season but are still second. Leicester are going through a bad spell and are still third. Chelsea have been up and down and they are fourth. Until yesterday we were not even talking about the possibility of Champions League for Tottenham and now they are fifth. And now we are talking about Arsenal having a chance, maybe."


So Poyet becomes the latest person to question the quality of the Premier League.

Is this another dig at Liverpool? Is it about playing down their achievements?

Or is it a fair discussion about the league as it stands?

When it has been raised on the this forum it seems to attract an accusation of being bitter about Liverpool, with exaggerations aplenty... is that fair or is there a debate to be had here?
