Positives

Very happy with the result, Ole seems to love playing big games and Chelsea in particular.

Fred - Turning into our most important midfielder. Not given a proper chance since he moved here, but now he is flourishing. His price tag is slowly being justified.

Shaw- He did very well in a unnatural position. Not sure what clicked for him, but that LCB position in a back 3/5 suits him a lot.

Bailly - Impressive first game back after a loooong time. Still has a clanger in him, but body on the line stuff, something we are missing. Quick and strong, I'd rather have him over Victor right now.

Bruno - His delivery and technique on some of his passing is another thing we have been missing with the absence of Pogba. He will do well here. Him and Fred work very well.

Matic - He's had a bit of a renaissance since coming back into the team. Still needs to be replaced but doing a good job.

AWB - Finally showed he can beat a man and put in a good cross! Happy for him. His defensive abilities were never in doubt.

Ighalo - Should have scored, but in the 3/4mins he was on the pitch, he got into a good goalscoring position. Looking forward to seeing more of him.

7 Clean sheets in 10, mad to think. Top 4 is a possibility. Hoping Bruno and Odion provide us with more, and we slowly get our players back from injury.

Not geting carried away at all, but let's see what happens. We need to be more consistent.

What are people's opinion on this formation? I think James is very limited when we play like this. Maybe Ighalo and Martial would suit, with Ighalo holding up the ball

James might be used as a RWB when we play against poor teams. I really like this formation. It's helps us to be defensively sound and brings the best out of Maguire, Fred and makes our midfielders less exposed.

Bailly was, is, and will always be, cack.

Other than that, most of the outfield players were on good form - even martial got something right.

he showed more in 1 game than lindelof has done all season

The formation is good for keeping clean sheets, but it's not very easy on the eye.

Perhaps with Pogba and Rashford back it would be more effective though. We'd also need AWB and Williams to bomb forward more readily.

James has been underwhelming to say the least. Granted we didn't expect him to be starting every game, but he is weak, one dimensional and seems to lack footballing intelligence.

I was impressed with Bruno Fernandes last night, I thought he and Anthony Martial linked up well.

Fred was excellent last night, I knew he would come good for us, I'm glad he's proving his doubters wrong as well.

see this is the other side of the fred argument, james started off really well for us and has faded as the season has gone on, however he showed enough in the first 3 months of the season to suggest he does have a role to play in our squad, personally feel he's been over played in his 1st season in the pl due to lack of proper quality alternatives and his body is obviously it not used that constant intensity compared to championship level

He's been played far too much IMO. He was finding himself central last night too which meant we didn't really have a presence in the box at times.

In article about positives trust UWW to come up with a possible negative

or you can just filter the and not have to even see his negative drivel. Sometimes these people just need to go away - they offer nothing, especially after a great result.

Agree with Diafol.
James has shown us what he can do, and now we are asking too much too soon.
He needs a rest. Just give him a few games between now and the end of the season, and see how how he goes next season.

Shaw seems to be getting to even better attacking positions and doing better with the ball at LCB than he does at LB/LWB. Maybe having Williams to his left gives him more security to let loose and attack more. The hesitation and percentage passes you normally see from him disappear because he knows Williams can cover him needs be.
