The thing is with transfers, regardless of where we finish we should be wrapping them up now or at least sounding them out and getting verbal agreements.

It's plain and obvious to every one and their dog on where our weaknesses are, you would hope Jose's team have already identified the key areas and players we want.

With regard to league finish I hope for 5th but fear 7th or 8th will be more likely.

In a strange way I think we have played most our hardest league matches now.

Man U and Arsenal are both at home.

we are just as shat at home tbf

and also we have wolves, sheff utd, burnley, leicester, everton to play...

Our remaining fixtures are not all that bad, with most of the hardest away games out of the way already, unfortunately we are too shieete to take advantage.

I will be staggered if we finish 4th with all our problems.

As for the Europa, I`d rather be in Europe than out of it, just as long as we use it to give squad players games to and blood youngsters. I wouldnt want the first XI playing in the Europa until the later stages or if we look like going out of it early. It would be interesting however, to see how we would do in the league with a season out of Europe altogether.

ATM our "first team" (if we have one?) will "look like going out early."
This is a squad that has grown old and weary. It is "in transition", which is to say that it needs to be totally rebuilt - every position looked at hard.
It will take two years if approached aggressively.
Do we have the management to do this?
Or the funds?
That is the question.
And my answer is "I doubt it".
Mourinho? Levy? Lewis? ENIC?
I expect just more of the same ... a Bergwijn here, a wrong Fernandes there, a missed Dybala over there ....
