Recruitment is a problem. When you have likes of Barker Jones Hastie on combined wages of one very good player and none near the first team it shows money has been wasted.

All 3 were signed on frees. Given our budget there’s always going to be guys like this who work or don’t, see Celtic doing it with players costing 2-3m. Guys like the two they signed in Jan, Kouassi, Boli etc.

If anything Jones and Docherty would add a lot of aggression which we’re missing.

There will always be duds but it's concerning when there's a few at the same position is my point. For the cost of a well payed player there is a three man committee of reserves.

Agree with that but player recruitment on the budget has been good overall I’d say. Don’t have questions on their ability just mentality, and whether that’s down to the players and manager or just the manager I’m no sure. Gerrard clearly not managed them well since Jan and appears to be lacking there anyway.

Been said plenty of times we’re missing a real leader on the park too.
