United / Spurs - the contrast

If this hasn’t convinced the pro Levy brigade of what a serious mess this guy has turned this club into, then nothing will. United playing poorly, but in desperate need of creativity. Went out and spent big money on a position they really needed and bought in the required quality to try and combat a big issue. Fernandes has completely transformed their season and pretty much cemented their CL place next season.

Spurs and Levy as per usual go and spend money on positions they don’t actually need ( Bergwijn) , Loan cheap alternatives ( Gedson ) when clearly the team were in desperate need of a top quality striker and the club have now gone into meltdown and will not be playing CL football next season. The contrast in the 2 clubs, who were both pretty much having a similar disappointing season to now ,when you actually evaluate the business done in the window to rectify it, just goes to show what incompetent owners we have at this club.

The Spurs supporters trust meeting with Levy the other day strengthens my disconnect towards them even more. Excuse after excuse and deflecting any sort of blame from himself. Not once did he show any sort of incline that the club were going to push forward and try to compete with the very best. It was all the usual Levy bulls**. “ Money doesn’t guarantee you success “ .... errr I think being neck and neck with Liverpool 2 seasons ago, us spending 0 and Liverpool spending 180 mil and are now World and European champions prove otherwise you bald f**!!! Another great quote “ not being in the CL will impact our budget “ ..... well maybe if you provided the right players this window, just maybe we wouldn’t be in this position. F** you Levy and f** off ENIC!!! #levyout #enicout #todareistoodear

Ok, I totally agree with the criticism of Spurs in the transfer market / forward planning in the right areas, but please don't compare us with Utd.

They are not the opposite of us in this area. They have an absolutely horrendous transfer record over the last few years, and a couple of good games from Fernandes does not make it all ok.

Frankly some of the comments on here seem to show some of us are falling for the constant media "positive spin" that always follows Utd around. I mean just how many corners have they turned so far. How many very small chinks of light have the media turned into major successes ?

Yes we need to be seriously concerned where Spurs are currently going, but let's get some perspective about Utd, who are as far away from City and Liverpool as we are.

No flights here to Italy I thought?

We could of signed Fernandes and apparently he was keen to come to us, but for whatever reason we did not make it happen, probably down to Levy not wanting to spend as always. Then again it was probably all just club propaganda like the fantasy deals for Dybala, Coutinho etc

Hope the wedding goes well Don and you avoid anything bad going on in Italy, namely any coverage of Spurs.

Spurs didn't want to pay more than 45m up front from what I read. We got him for 47m up front.

Yeh, I don’t believe that myself.

Wages have been Tottenham’s issue for many years.

Don, don’t know you but sorry to hear that and hope it all settles down for you.

Wedding planning is a tough old business so this is incredibly harsh on you!

Just incredible bad luck mate but we are covered that’s the main thing. We have a wedding planner based in uk who’s arranged it all. So if worse comes to worse and Italy is still in lockdown by May, we postpone the wedding to a date suitable to us. Holiday companies will refund us and all our guests money to, as the country would be in lockdown. So we wouldn’t lose out, just be very frustrating as we been really looking forward to it in May, but I think it will settle when the lockdown is lifted, so fingers crossed. Where I’m getting married in Sorrento they don’t even have any cases, it’s just the North.
