Next Season

With the postponement of this season (and being bored working my notice period at work) I was thinking about the best solution to the current predicament.

Essentially, scrapping the season is incredibly harsh, not just for Liverpool but also Leeds, WBA etc who have worked hard to get themselves into their current position. Aside of being a good wum, it's incredibly harsh on so many teams.

So I think that whenever football restarts, we need to run the current season to completion (may need agreement with the players association to extend player contracts beyond June) and then truncate the following season.

To shorten the season you could have teams only play eachother once, rather than twice. These could either be in neutral venues or the home side could be decided upon previous records between the teams.

This enables us to carry on with domestic cups, finish the current season and nobody is disadvantaged as next season starts on a level playing field.

Thoughts?

All wumming aside and not aimed at OP, this discussion/debate is dumb as feck imo. Not least because it's been done.

The main issue here for me is that people are dying and football should not be the foremost thing on any individuals mind.

Talking about football is a great distraction from the mess outside. Would you rather we all cowered in fear?

I accept that Sandy. And why I said it's been done.

The desperation to see the season completed irks me tbh. And I'm not suggesting OP is doing this, but it seems to be reasons such as teams getting trophies or cl places etc.

Just my pov obviously. If some disagree have at it

I've heard some possible solutions but this is the worst one I have ever heard.

Kash, what the mosques doing round your way? For jummah n that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jummas mosques have said that they will follow the government guidelines. But if lockdown does occur then the mosque will distribute khutba to read at home as long as here are x4 people there.

However they've said stay for the minimum time, do wudhu at home and sod off asap.

Over 70s should weigh their health first and if anyone is coughing told to gtfo.

Pretty much same around my ways.

They don't seem to follow the Islamic guidelines imo.

The adhaan should be the one from the sahabah days when rain etc was harsh. So there is the "pray at home" bit on the end.

Lot of elders usually in mosque. So personally think should say pray at home

Follow the Twitter account for the latest developments.
Currently no plans at the moment for changes to jumu'ah other than requesting people to do wudhu at home and leave as soon as the fardh are completed.

Towels removed from wudhu area. Will start closing the numbers of taps available to encourage home amblutes as well as making disinfecting easier.

my thoughts on this is follow the money. Where's the moeny in the game? In the prem.

there has to be 38 games next year. there doesn't need to be cups. Especially not a league cup.

IT really depends on if there's people to pay the tv subscriptions and not all unemployed. And frankly if these companies default its going to be a huge issue on all clubs.

Forget leeds and liverpool. think about the whole picture.

Unless the money is coming in the game will implode.

And there doesn't have to be 38 games this year? Why?
This season is invested already and of more value than next season. If any season should be affected it should be next season IMO.
