I’ve gone full circle here. Apologies, not wishing to upset anyone, not wumming either. We’ve all had to read views, both for and against us being awarded the PL Championship. In the middle, the wums, but that goes with the flow.
I can’t see any football being played in the immediate or near future. Any attempt to resurrect the league post-May I think is doomed to failure.
If we were awarded the Championship in would have to be based on an incomplete competition. 25 points clear is a good reason, a very good reason for offering and accepting this award, but there would always be the reality on non-completion staring us on the face.
Is there not a case - I’m only asking, please don’t shoot me down - where, in the event of the trophy being offered, it is politely declined by the club. I’ve waited thirty years for this, we’ve got the best squad in the PL. I accept that the other clubs will rejuvenate, some heavily, but I would rather we win it clean - pardon the pun - than get a sympathy trophy.

When PSG scored their 5th goal of the tie in the clash with Barca, everyone said they were through.
They weren't.
Nobody can deny you have been the best ever in a single Premiership season. Up to the 29th game.
What is the old saying, you don't win the league in March?
You were close, but not close enough.
Would I feel sorry for you? Hell no.
Would I laugh? Hell yeah!
And I am sure you would laugh at United if the roles were reversed.
A shtty Prem season is irrelevant in the scheme of things

If the season remains incomplete then Liverpool will be given the title. No doubt on this. A lot of people convincing themselves otherwise but that will only lead to tears.
Declaring the season a nullity is more absurd than any other possibility.

Can’t do it. As much as I would want to, I just can’t laugh at Liverpool FC. This is truly a tragic situation.
If it were to happen, but hopefully they will find a way to complete the season.

Liverpool will win the league, they will get the trophy at some point.
But the financial implications of promotion and relegation through the leagues needs to be sorted by playing out the season.

You do deserve it and everyone knows it.
At first I thought you should get it, but I've had a change of mind. Mainly because it creates too may problems with other clubs.
Perhaps some recognition of your season, but not the title. Sorry.

We were not ‘close’. It was in the bag. When was the last time a team was 25 points clear in March? A maximum of 2 wins required - probably could’ve forfeited our remaining 9 games and just waited for City to mess up twice.
Bit different to a team being 1 point clear of 18th place. I still think it will be completed over summer anyway.
