Stay safe everyone

Everything is a bit surreal at the moment. Non-essential social contact and travel advised against, it's going to be a very weird period. I'm concerned about how long the effects on daily life are going to last for, but I am also concerned about certain family members should they become infected, even though it seems like this will just be a mild illness for most healthy people who contract it.

I've put this on the Liverpool board but this goes for every person on the site. Take care everyone, and may all your families and friends stay safe too. Let's hope for normality to return before too long

boris has taken way too long to wake up and take action and his "asking" for things won't cut it.

Boris has with this attitude spread this thing like wildfire. it'll only be the lack of testing thats kept the numbers down.

2000 deaths in italy in 27000 cases?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Italy 27,980 cases 2,158 deaths - 7.7%
---------------------------------------------
And how many of the fatalities had underlying ‘health problems’?

The VAST majority of them!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does that facking matter?? 7.7% is dead, previously sick or not. That 7% is about the death rate we can expect. Its someone's relative, we are all going to feel this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

7.7% is only the death rate for confirmed cases. Italy are only testing people in hospitals, so the real death rate is a lot lower.

That’s just total rubbish - you’ll be blaming the virus on Brexit next

The Government has no blame whatsoever to do with this, just another excuse once again to punt the finger and cast blame on someone/something else - pathetic really

Maybe, it could just be bad luck and it’s no ones ‘fault’
----------------------------------------------------------------------
with respect thats absolute horse plop.

I never once mentioned brexit.

It is the governments ACTIONS aka lack there of when the cases were smaller that have lead to what will be a massive wave of cases. right now we are just asking nicely and people will ignore that. I'm seeing it right now.

France is on lock down. Italy is a disaster. Spain is on lock down.

We are considering, being polite.

Its only dawning on these clowns that we've lets this spread round and not shut stuff down.

only 1500 cases detected in the whole of the uk so far??

please.... its going to be an absolute explosion shortly.

As for the absolute CALLOUSNESS of writing off people as "having underlying issues" well I'll eave it at that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you not watch the news? Almost every case in the U.K. so far where there have been fatalities, there were underlying health issues at play too - look at the FACTS!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone on this thread could have undiagnosed underlying health issues though. Not something to rule out as not applying to you.

I hope everyone is keeping well. I read that Vitamin d could be good for fighting respiratory infection, it’s one of the reasons they say fewer people catch flu in the summer. Worth getting some food rich in Vit D, or supplements maybe, if you’re particularly worried about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's interesting

I've been taking vitamin D capsules for a couple of years now to help with my gout

I've got 3 months of self isolation incoming

this is utter madness...like something out of a horror film
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Is that the next step out there? It really is crazy, you have no idea what each new day brings restriction wise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
UK government have changed their view today...because their previous policy of mitigation was based on inaccurate info...basically they facked up..and are now going for the suppression tactic that has been found to be the only way to stop in the epidemic in china and italy
----------------------------------------------------------------------

and some boris lover started on me last night for.calling their lunacy.
saying next i'd blame it on brexit etc... fading morons.

said 2000 deaths in Italy were due to.underling conditions etc.

the government still its.doing half enough. all social.events.must.close. everyone who.can should.be forced to work from home.

mass lay offs coming in food, transport, hospitality sectors

if we dont stop the spread.the NHS will collapse.

1 week. action required today.

Ah fairplay. My missus was having really bad joint pain and discovered she had an extreme deficiency. I think lots are us are deficient as it isn’t present in lots of food, ended up getting some multivits to boost overall nutrition and haven’t looked back.

I’m from Liverpool but have lived in Florida for 6 years. Was even due to fly home tomorrow for a three week visit home, not happening. The scary thing here is also the panic buying... but of guns and ammunition!

btw above.

the biggest reason people have a flu season in winter is not vitamin d.

it's as simple as the greater amount of uv light kills viruses, people are outside more and wind and uv just breaks those lipid envelopes down.

anyway theres lots of things to make people worry or feel better but if we all stay the hell away from each other and wash our hands well.
