Decent Books

Looking for books to read during the lockdown: 'The Young Team' - this is actually not a decent book. It is however, very well written but also very, very scary in terms of the memories that were stirred.

Emdy fae the schemies in Eastehouse, Airdre, Cumbernauld, the 'Brig, Bellshill, Viewpark or any ither slagdumps will get it: eventually.

Anything by Bernard Conwell, historical but with ficticious characters telling the story. His Viking/Alfred the Great series is particularly good.

Tom Clancy too, can be a bit long winded at times but great reads.

Not the latest ones from rangers-got a going concern in them.

If you want cheering up, then this one has multiple laugh out loud moments on every page ...

"An Utterly Impartial History of Britain: Or 2000 Years of Upper Class Idiots in Charge" by John O'Farrell (published 2007)

Highly recommend it, and kinda appropriate in these trying times. About 600 pages as well, so will keep you going for a while.

If you like crime stories, try Jussi Adler Olsen, the Carl Morck series. Well written and usually a couple of stories running parallel within it.
