I’m at work but won’t be for much longer, Port Talbot has turns the main blast furnace to cool down, which means no steel being produced in the uk for the time being
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tata Steel? They're a supplier of ours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I work for Tata, Port Talbot supplies all our steel, we’ve go about a months worth of stock at best
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh dear. Maybe our place will close when suppliers do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The good thing is they haven’t turned it off completely, that would be a disaster, apparently it costs around £50m to restart as you need to reline the furnace which is a massive job, turning it to cool down is a temporary measure

Sports direct and construction firms are Now closing Toor.

No need for folk to ram tubes full either.

Common sense ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Construction firms haven't been told to close. In fact if it came to only essential services, they've somehow deemed construction essential.

Sports Direct are a shop, shops were told to close, unless essential.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am saying sports direct are now closing after Ashley decided to flout govt guidelines

And construction work is stopping and hopefully all of it will.

I am not here to speak for bojo.

Just reporting what happens and giving an opinion.

We do not always have to argue and pick a side.

Is construction work stopping? Michelle O'Neill said Boris had it on the essential list.

The contruction industry is notorious for not paying people for the last week they work.

Many firms now pay monthly and the prospect of not getting paid, not being able to claim benefits and being out of work for months on end has probably produced an ostrich mentality amongst the workers.

So did the secretary of state for housing. The construction industry is not on lockdown.

My step father is in this situation. He's over sixty and a steel fixer. He won't get paid. He's asking me what help there is and I don't know what to tell him, considering they haven't put anything in place for self employed.

But regardless, they haven't said you shouldn't go to work unless it's an essential job.
