Which is more difficult?

Managing a big club with huge expectation or a small club with little to no expectation?

I ask because some fans often state that a certain manager only succeed because he's only ever managed big clubs with loads of money.

Meanwhile United, the biggest and richest club in the country are already into manager 5 since Fergie left.

If money is why Pep is doing well at City, then why do managers fail at United giving that United is wealthier than City......at least for now?

United have been a mess with the transfer policies while City by and large have got it right with some exceptions. Recruitment is key and United are finally starting to nail it with recent signing.

Ole now after spending £200m (more spending in summer) needs to improve them from a Europa side to league challenging.

Ole is a football genius.
£80m for Big Harry says it all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet he constantly schools Pep

Pep schooled him when it mattered.

the equivalent of me saying Kevin Keegan constantly schooled Fergie 20 years ago!

Look at Moyes, finishing 7th and getting to the semi-finals of a cup competition is considered a good season at Everton, at United, it got him the sack.

Much easier to achieve something, in any walk if life, if the expectations are already quite low.

Perhaps that’s why with Utd 5th and just the 37 points off the top they are quite satisfied with the paperboy

Different era, different mindsets, but ask Brian Clough, he’d pick the smaller Clubs anytime - nothing to lose you see, with such little expectations (Derby & Forest)

Look what happened when he went to Leeds who were League Champions...he lasted 44 days

Went into Forest who were bottom half of the old 2nd Division, and within 5 years, he’d turned them into Double European Champions

There are more articles and comments now about us being a mid table club etc.
And the reason is that they realise Ole is building a good team, since Bruno arrived things are falling into place so there is a frisson of anxiety that next season we will be challenging, hard.

if he figures how to get pogba into the mix effectively i think it could very well be a three horse race.
