Would you accept covid checkpoints at games

So the cricket guys are looking at the means to have even behind closed doors games with some form of testing and isolation systems just to try get the tv money in no doubt.

So what about football?

My work place has installed a whole series of checks and isolation processes to keep running.

We have a camera for example that you stand in front of and it snaps a pic and uses a known heat source to take your temp.

Would you accept a screening process to go to football whenever it starts up?

Would you accept 25% capacity with seats to front, rear and side of to shut?

I wonder what schemes leagues are trying to come up with to move forward?

Nah, pretty pointless. Not everyone with covid will present with a temperature and not everyone with a temperature will have covid.

The Government will never allow it. So it is a complete non starter.

Well cricket thinks it can do it.

I personally agree that temperature checking is fairly pointless as its a bit late but it does "catch" some occurrences as my place of work has stopped 3 people so far entering. There could be 50 inside with it mind.

So you guys think cricket is at nothing?

Great. So what about people who turn up and test positive? They've just been unnecessarily circulating among other people.

Your workplace shouldn't be exposing its staff to unnecessary risk just to make money either imo.

Temperature checks would not be a reliable way to do checks in my opinion.
I ride a motorcycle to work and wear a sheepskin flying jacket. On hot days I am sometimes sweating like a camel when I get to work.
Our company looked at ways to protect its staff, and decided the best way to do that is to shut down untill the end of April and see how things are then.

people need to start thinking ahead to how this all gets worse or better.

If games are played it will be behind closed doors.

At some point we will need to start fighting for our way of life. If its possible to play games behind closed doors at any time in the coming months then that will be a good start.

I can fully understand, and agree with the thinking behind the proposal, but in reality it’s a non-starter. We either isolate or we don’t, no middle ground.

It’s been reported in the press that the catastrophe which is currently Italy (and Spain) today is a result of 50K+ spectators turning up at the San Siro ground to watch the Atlanta v. Valencia CL game, and that most if not all has flown from that. I don’t know and never will if that is correct or not, but if it is, none of us will be attending a live sport for a long while yet.

The PM has said stay at home. It’s got to be the only way.
