what about..........

........just restarting the season & cup competitions when we can. open the xfer window now too, so contracts that are soon to finish can be sorted etc. close it when the games restart. therefore we just so to say skip a season, then the leagues finish, then start the cup competitions, then start the euros?

or is that too sensible

you want to restart the season?
Get rid of the virus.
After June, the season is dead.
Not only Liverpool but all clubs will be affected by the way.

You think clubs can afford to pay players 2 years wages for one season?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good point, the ripple effects of the options other than finishing the season and having as complete a 20/21 season are huge!

once this goes past June there will be only a handful of clubs who want to finish it, the majority will be prepared to void it nd start again.

is it fair? probably not on teams like Liverpool but there would be much larger ramifications dragging this on just to see a title coronation

and in balancing effect, Liverpool may not be PL champs but they will stay current CL champions so have the chance to defend it next season

The rest will be happy to forgive 20% of their season’s matchday revenue and likely similar percentage of tv money?

I doubt it.

I dont think we will play again till October. Likelihood is we will lose one season. I think it will be next season we lose. Just my hunch

Finish this season as soon as possible then design a truncated season for 20/21.

Perhaps each division split into a north and south with playoffs at the end of the season between the top and bottom 3 teams for promotion and relegation?

Think we're stuck in the Championship forever.

What I am finding is that there is a drift from "fairness" aka the situations clubs were in and where they will be when this restarts.

For exmaple:

Spurs could have kane and son back.
Utd could have rashford back

Its quite hard to assess fitness and ability to go adequete recovery sessions though.

Say a club was due to face spurs. They were (with respect to the fine fellows that they are) absolute pants before the suspension. west ham and bournemouth night have loved to meet them but now they could give both clubs a spanking?

Then we could look at F1 for example. Mercedes rolled out a new system that was unique and now every team will have had time to develop their own.

Thats the breaks i suppose.

Really however the domestic football season is rather easier to resolve than european football.

10 league games to play. Every club knows it. Some only have 9. So you lash into them an play them off quickly and everyone knows its a game every 3 days or whatever. you train and play knowing if you go hard at the outset you'll blow up half way though.

Liverpool played 9 games last December alone including travel.

The FA cup has 3 rounds = 4 QF, 2 SF and a final. thats a week if people want it to be.

Cancel the community shield as that's only a preseason game putting money in the slush fund.

So I cannot solve european football. the travel is a hug huge issue. however a minimum tournament could be created to play it off i suppose

Premier league's TV Mega event good news for Leeds

The Premier League is reported to be developing plans for clubs to fulfil the remaining 92 Premier league fixtures.

The plan would be to have isolated “World Cup-style” camps situated in the midlands and London, and televise the matches across June and July. Al matches would be behind closed doors.

As a complete lockdown is looking increasingly more likely, the TV Mega event has drawn increased support from the government as they believe it may help lower the tension.
