What happens with Sanches?

By the time the season starts back up, if it ever does, Sanches' loan deal could well have ended. What's happens then? Is the loan extended until the end of the season? Or does he come back? If he does come back is he eligible to play?

Can't see the points thing being acceptable, tbh Barf. Also, what do you do with teams with games in hand - give them all 3 points for every game or penalise them for playing less?

If it does get cancelled, then I think the fairest way of doing things would be to start the next season with everyone on their current points total.

Teams will get to keep their current point advantage/disadvantage. The unfairness would be that teams have to play more than the current 8/9/10 games left to achieve titles/win promotion/avoid relegation.

If it only resumes around Dec/Jan instead of July/August then perhaps a half season in the league with maybe cup comps limited to the teams that are still involved in this season's cups?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What about adding the remaining games to next season's fixtures? So the title is decided over 2 seasons with team's playing each other 4 times. We would probably have to sacrifice the cups to get the games in, but it would remove the unfairness of just wiping out a team's advantage that they have earned. It would also remove the issue of player's contracts. They could still move around in the summer as normal.

he is not in our PL squad so don't think he could play

These are exceptional circumstances though. The league is supposed to be completed by a certain date, but that isn't happening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But as you said, these are exceptional circumstances. First we will fight covid and then come back and amend or rewrite any rules we need to in order to restore our way of life.

At this time rules mean nothing. League was suspended indefinitely for a reason.

I mean, people expect 3-4 billion seasons to be canceled because of covid and they want drastic action, but the dates for transfer windows and season completion to remain as per the law.

Is covid a big deal or not? What is the motivation for wanting some rules to be scrapped while others remain in place? Sounds convenient for a certain purpose. These tiny laws were made by us and will not stop us doing what we want.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't just make a rule across all countries that every player must extend their contact, whether they are on loan or on a permanent deal, just so that the league can finish. Every player would have to agree to that, which won't happen. Plus contact laws will be different across different countries. Can't see how it is workable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that what I said? Is extending contracts the only solution? That's a tough one to achieve and you can't put words in my mouth.

I think cancelling the season will be the spark that eventually leads to:
A larger CL
A PL 2 - with 16 teams in PL and 16 in PL 2
Big changes to the league system below that.
Potentially the League Cup disappearing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps a new Premier League too and we can start the title count from zero again, just like 92.

Liverpool with Klopp, Arsenal with Arteta and United with Ole.

Good luck.

You can laugh all you like, but at the moment the most likely outcome is the league will be cancelled. I'm just ring to think of the fairest way of dealing with the situation

I don't think that's the most likely option. Its just a possibility. Manchester United run the PL and FA and Woodward won't let it happen.

Expanding the leagues is a better option than yours by quite some distance.

You were blathering on about me wanting to keep certain rules and ignore others. I didn't even say that.
