Abu Dhabi charges NHS millions in rent for super-hospital in ExCeL London
The owners of the ExCeL centre in east London are charging the NHS millions of pounds in rent to use it as a temporary hospital for coronavirus patients.
The ExCeL, owned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec), is charging the health service £2m-£3m a month, according to industry sources.
The ExCeL’s decision to charge rent is in contrast to the NEC in Birmingham, owned by the American private equity giant Blackstone, which is providing the venue for free and said it would put “the entire NEC facility at the disposal of the NHS for as long as it needs it".
Some catering and cleaning staff employed by the catering services group Compass at the ExCeL have been furloughed under the government’s support scheme for workers. Compass said: “We are proud of our colleagues providing catering at the Nightingale Hospital at ExCeL London, but we understand some may choose not to, and those people have been furloughed in line with the arrangements set out by the government."
So in short, they’re charging £2-3m a month for what was essentially an empty building during the pandemic but also furloughing cleaning and catering staff costing the government 80% of their wage

I've mentioned the excel fees and compared them to the money the government will be paying instead of Liverpool's owners to the lowest paid staff.
And talking of desperate,how desperate are those parasitic cants that own Liverpool to take any opportunity to earn from a global disaster.

-Excel being rented out for £2-3m
- The same Saudi owners were also responsible for the furloughing of catering staff
