Are all posters ok?

I don’t post that often on this site anymore - kind of contribute in waves. Will be quite active for a week or so then not bother posting anything for several weeks.

But I do tend to pop in and lurk at least a few times each week and read several threads during those times.

Which pretty much sums up my use of this site over the past month or so.

Since the lockdown, I think this is my first post. But I’ve noticed a couple of very active posters prior to the lockdown haven’t really posted at all. I hope the reason for that is - not being at work, where they have access to the site for several hours each day, and instead being at home, where they would rather spend their time with their loved ones in a more productive and interactive manner with those as opposed to with other users of this site.

But I do wonder. Are they, are you, all ok?

So wanted to create this thread in which people could reply saying they are still here, they are still well, they still healthy. And that they are coping fine, mentally, physically, and financially.

A couple of posters I’ve missed, and wondered about are Melton, Winston, United52. Hope they are all ok, and if you are, and you do by chance read this, then just post a comment.

We all have our spats on here. But we are all unified (almost used the word united then) in our love of football and we all essentially come from a good place - that being the love of the game and the clubs we support, so irrespective of any heated debate, or indeed frustration with one another, I sincerely hope that you are all doing ok and coping.

And here’s to many more arguments over football in the future once all of this is over

I think the problem has been too much emphasis on who started it. As a result countries have not really explored if people did have it much earlier than the start if this year.

Think in America they had some guy saying that some flu deaths had actually been covid 19.

And I was interested in the vaping deaths in America last year, from a study perspective, and I have to say the symptoms were very covid 19 like. At the time they put it down to people self mixing vaping juices. However the symptoms were pneumonia like and even those who survived didn't recover, which is one of the things ignored with covid 19, basically that those who recover may well have messed up lungs for the rest of their lives etc.

The basic point I wanna make is that blaming can be done once we recover from this. For now if the evidence of it starting can help with a vaccine etc then let's focus on that

Isn't it Australian flu that was around towards the end of last year? I don't think it's Covid19 otherwise surely we'd have witnessed more deaths then and more widespread symptoms

Yeah, i think it is wishful thinking that many have already had it late last year because as you say, nobody was dying then.

has anyone on here had it? thought i saw someone the other day saying he had it in december but can't find it

Hope everyone is doing well, sending best wishes/health to you to ripley and everyone else

I think I've had it but like a lot of others I don't quite know for sure. 6 of us all came off a cruise ship on March 23 and all of us went down with a variety of the symptoms. About a week later P&O sent us a communication informing us that a member of their staff had tested positive for Corona.

Felt dead tired and breathless for about 10-12 days, sleeping all day and night, had the cough but no headache (which some of us did have) developed night sweats from days 7-10. All of us happily have now recovered and feel great. Two of us are key workers and once they get tested at some point it will give us an indication whether we had it or not.

Only other thing i'll add is, it has become to much of a "coincidence" now how many people i've seen describe having this in around november/december/january. Some people will lie to give themselves false hope, some people will have had something else, but it's genuinely verging on about 500-1,000 people i've seen say this now including doctors, pharmacists, ambulance drivers (e.g. they'd pick someone up and then end up getting sick themselves few days later). It's just clearly been here since november/december, guess that is kind of further evidenced by the fact Wuhan wasn't even rife with the " A " strain / first mutation.

2017/2018 was a really bad winter, 2018/2019 we didn't really have what i'd call a winter, this time it's been fackin cold and wintery since october and is still going even with high winds etc apart from the odd week/ week and half of warmish weather.

This might just be another one of them, to put into perspective all cause deaths in 2018 up to 15 april are still over 3,000 higher than all cause deathers up to 15 april 2020.

Not saying this isn't worse, especially by the amount of lives a lockdown has probably saved (Probably about 100 a day from car accidents etc+), but it does add some perspective and give a kind of bit better indication at an actual mortality rate than the 5%-10% it looks like.

It also p!sses me off we're all doing our bit by adhering to lockdown etc and fully accepted it and going the extra mile and all the amazing hero key workers, and then the government still lets 15k-20k people fly into fackin heathrow from all the hotspot countries with not even a temperature check

this is a classic ignore the lock down response.

all one needs do is look at NY and apply it across the states.

Trumps moronic comments about not needing to vaccinate some states "cos they are spread out" is just lunacy and has stoked this attitude up.

If left unchecked a disease with a 5% mortality rate that is particularly invasive and attacks the lungs would frankly kill a million in the USA alone. (330 million people)

the fact is: yeah is a "really bad flu" but people need to get real. Cos 99% of people who say that have never had FLU!

Obviously no illness is good but I don't think we can blame Covid-19 on every illness for the last year or so. Keep safe!

Chelsea need me up front next season.

A fat shaved head middle aged madman is what we need.

In my day, I was deceptively slow.🏂
