Arsenal Scenarios

1) Season cancelled

This could end up being the best scenario, but only if UEFA go through with one of the proposed ideas, to award next seasons Champions League spots on UEFA co-efficient rankings. We currently rank 4th in the Premier League so would qualify. Spurs with the 5th ranking co-efficient would only qualify if Man City's ban is upheld.

2) Season stopped but points for remaining games awarded based on this seasons points per game ratio

We would be one of only 2 clubs to benefit from this, moving up one place and jumping over Spurs. So if this happens there is only really the small consolation of a Mini St Totteringhams Day to celebrate.

3) Season is played out

Pretty much anything could happen, maybe hit the ground running, have a run of good results and gain a fair few places, or alternatively continue to be mediocre, and stay around the same position or possibly go down the table.

I don't think they will use UEFA coefficient ranking as it will leave no chance for new comers like Sheffield United. If they go for this route, use current standing table would be fairer, albeit some teams played less games than others.

Looking at the bigger picture, if the vaccine is really 18 months along the way, I can see the next season being cancelled as well unless they plan to play the whole season without crowd, which is dreadful to watch.

I think it will be good news for Arsenal, null and void season meaning they get back into the Europa league.

In all seriousness though I very much doubt there will be European footy next year even if the domestic league is able to be played. Teams don’t want to be travelling to potential hot spots

Would finally force broadcasters to show every game, though. That would not be a dreadful development.

I don't think you can play the whole season like that, without the vaccine. It only take 1 player testing positive to force the whole team in isolation for 14 days.

Scenario No.3 for me.

Our season's not dead yet. We're still in the Cup. A very winnable quarterfinal away to Sheffield.

Anything beyond that is pretty much a toss up as we would be playing on neutral ground.

As I just said on another post, the lockdown might last at least in part until Christmas and thats without it having to be extended longer than current predictions indicate. We might need to finish this season next year and lose an entire season.
