This is what we are told will happen after lockdown, but what exactly does that mean?
I am a pessimist with this. People are habitual creatures and adapt very quickly to changing situations like we are in now but when that situation is removed or almost gone they will return to their old normal.
Fast food and busy roads will return and people will snap straight back into life (obviously I am conscious that employment may have been hit hard). Those who have never run but are now doing world record 5k's will go back to doing nothing. Non-essentials that are not being bought now will return as big companies marketing will go into over-drive to make up for lost revenue and people will see the latest iPhone as absolutely must have because of the camera which they will rarely use apart from for selfies.
The feel good for the NHS will be forgotten, some rag if they are still running like the S*n or Daily Hatred will run a bad story on the front page. I have seen it too many time with the forces and people will lap it up. People love a bad news story.
What will have changed?
In my opinion people now have that sense of personal space, especially when shopping. Many people will have found an enjoyment in exercise or walking and will keep it up.
The new normal that the government set up cannot last for too long. The lockdown was to prevent the peak impacting the NHS. We are past that now. There will be a slow release to normal with gigs and sporting events the last to be allowed but they will happen sooner than people think.
The economy IMO is past repair in the short term and the best way to help get it back is big money being spent and sport and music provide such a platform.
