Spfl talks breakdown!

Scottish football's reconstruction talks have ended with insufficient support for any plan to reconfigure the leagues.

A 15-strong panel had been set up to look at proposals in the wake of the SPFL's ballot to end the season.

But at a meeting of the top-flight sides - plus Dundee United - on Friday, it emerged the majority were against changing the 12-10-10-10 format now.

That means Hearts would face relegation should the SPFL board call the season.

A 14-14-14 structure had seemed the most likely to succeed, given that the backing of nine of the 12 Premiership clubs was needed, along with eight in the Championship and 15 across Leagues One and Two.

The 10 current bottom-tier clubs have already agreed to support that en masse.

However, speaking on behalf of the reconstruction panel, Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack said: "The strong feeling of the group was that we must focus all of our energies on emerging from the crisis we face, due to the pandemic, on getting back to playing football safely and getting fans back into grounds as soon as practicably possible.

Firstly I very highly doubt anyone will be suing anyone.

Secondly the league will be called as it stands with champions being awarded and clubs relegated.

Rangers motion will be hammered by some 30odd votes to whatever is left. I doubt it will be more than 12 and at least 7 - 8 of those will have vested interests including Rangers who let’s not kid ourselves are both appeasing their fan base and seeing if there is yet an angle for null and voiding the season. They are most certainly not doing as some kind of calling for the greater good. And that’s what stinks most of all. If Rangers were leading the league it would be maintaining a “dignified silence” while sniggering at the antics of others. And that’s what makes them look more ridiculous and angry day by day.

Wait until after their motion is kicked into touch on Tuesday.

Although why the SPFL want to respond in juvenile kind is beyond me so yet they do need replacing with professional people.

And Scottish football won’t die.

Even in the poorest countries in the world there are thriving football leagues.

We will be arguing for as long as there is time to argue. All fooking summer, wait and see. SFA, UEFA, CAS whatever. If Sky say something they'll all jump into line.

They could start with saying “Grow the fwck up, call your leagues and tell us what you’re planning for next year”

True, though they’re also possibly thinking this fills a few minutes on SSN every day?
