Moussa Dembele

Reports are saying we've agreed a deal to sign him, Apparently Barcelona were in for him as well.

I never suggested you’re not entitled to contribute. You’re the one dishing out requests for me not to reply.

You replied to the subject matter being discussed by TOOR and me. That is clear.

So I replied to that comment.

I’ve done nothing wrong. If you don’t like it, that’s your problem - not mine.

And where did anyone suggest Klopp could be held accountable for the entire 15/16 season?

Answer: no one did.

I think we’ll go for both Dembele and Sancho

And line up with one of these two forward lines depending on form, injury etc

Rashford Dembele Sancho

Martial Dembele Sancho

Just can't see you signing Sancho in your current position. He's playing CL and competing for the title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool did sign Salah to be fair when they weren't competing for much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True, but Salah wasn't competing for the title at Roma like Sancho though, was he? They are at different career stages and Liverpool had been to two cup finals and achieved Champions League football with an established manager. Also, Salah wasn't as well remunerated as Sancho is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Roma were competing for the title to be fair, they were as close to Juve as any team seem to get. The last point is definitely a factor - Dortmund pay quite well and Sancho is near to top apparently, Roma don't really.

I reckon Sancho would come to Utd; he's young and has time on his side. Utd will get it right again sooner rather than later, too much money to not do.

I think the bigger question is whether in this current environment Utd would be willing to spend the type of money (either for affordability or public perception issues) that Dortmund would sell for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good points except that Roma were 17 points behind Juve. Being second doesn't mean they challenged for the title. Furthermore, despite finishing second, it was clear that Roma would not be catching Juve any time soon for a number of reasons, and history has proven that I guess.

So remuneration and prospects were a factor IMO.
In England there is Pep and Klopp and thats a big factor too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know this doesn't matter hugely but I have no idea where you get 17 points from.

Salah joined us in the summer of 2017, the league table I looked at had Roma finishing 4 points behind Juve. Definitely competing for the title.

We just offered Salah better longer term prospects and a lot more money. As Utd would with Sancho.

I checked the wrong table and I admit about the gap but I stick by the rest of my post. Roma never really challenged Juve for that title, Juve were comfortable leaders most of the time and the gap to Roma was not worrisome. Roma were the best of the rest, if you will but I would not say they've challenged Juve for the title in any of the recent years, your original point was spot on though.

I bet the Roma players, at that point, regarded themselves as part of a squad that could compete for a title though.

This seems unlikely.
