BBC Poll - Best Goal

Under BBC rules you can vote for any goal as long as it was scored by a Liverpool player.

I always preferred Yeboah's goal against Wimbledon(?) than the one against Liverpool, just because it had so much power. It was one of the hardest/fastest shots in football apparently.

I was waiting for someone to say this whilst reading through the comments. I agree.

In fact, weren’t they about a week or two apart ?

Lastly - one of my favourite PL goals of all time is Gus Poyets against Sunderland.

Firstly, the assist by Zola. A beautifully weighted chip behind the defence and Gus volleys the ball into the top bin.

Absolutely gorgeous goal.

And where’s Shearers volley against the bitters.

Incredible goal.

Yeboah should have two of the top 5, really. Astonishing goals.

Papiss Cisse is a great shout as well. That was phenomenal.

I would also include Rod Wallace against Tottenham. Sensational solo goal, but may be coloured by a Leeds bias. A few good bicycle kicks worth mentioning, but a belter from Andy Carroll for West Ham against Palace sticks in the mind, and of course Giroud scorpion kick.

Best team goal was Poyet's vs Sunderland in 1999.

Deschamp's long ball to Zola, who controlled, waited for Poyets run, then scooped it up for Poyet to run on to and volley in the back of the net.
