With the long awaited news of the return of Premier League football you’d think the nation would be glad football is returning. But without a ball being kicked we have the FA openly discussing timetables for the return of the FA Cup.
The Premier League is under pressure as it is trying to fit in the remaining games with all of the issues of player fitness, testing and social distancing to contend with without needing the additional stress of fitting in additional FA Cup games. UEFA are just as bad wanting to run their competitions in August
With the 20/21 campaign potentially set to start in the second week of September when are the players going to have a break or clubs fit in a preseason?
The best scenario all round is to finish the leagues where possible and then null and void ALL cup competitions restarting them if and when it is safe to do so next season.
It just feels a little too much too soon with the players and their families health not considered
Too much too soon

Either we get all the competitions completed or we cancel the lot.
Liverpool fans lectured us about how winning the Champions League is far more important than being Champions in your own country so I'm sure they'll agree that it's a priority to get that finished.

No the best solution which doesn't serve the premier league well as it involves forfeiting money and they are the biggest money greedy bunch ever, would be to null and void football completely.
Unlike Germany, the UK is still not out of the woods from COVID-19, and we should not do anything to make the pandemic even worse.
They should give Liverpool the title because that's not an argument. But to put lives in danger, it's just plain greed.
If God forbids we have a death or a player is struck badly with it, I can assure you the premier league will weazel out of taking responsibility with plenty of little disclaimers.

You mean the best decision for Spurs who have nothing to play for.
Unlucky

Odd remark. We gave top 4 to play for and have a far better chance of that with our big players back

City fans lectured us about how winning the League is far more important than being Champions of all of Europe and the world so I thought they'll agree that it's a priority to get that finished, sadly they hypocritically don't

Op..when are the players going to have a break?? You not think 3 months due to C19 is a good start???

Have they not just had 2/3 months of not playing as their break? And what would you have said if the Euro's would have gone ahead as planned this year? Knock it back another month to give the players a rest? No, they'd just crack on.
For most of these players at the top level, they are International footballers who would have likely been playing some part at the Euro's if it was to go ahead so I don't really see what the difference is.
People, again, trying to create a problem from nowhere.

people with experience who can tell you about playing 2 games a week in high summer then going right into the following season and playing 2 games a week are not "making problems"

Err you're eighth mate. Ninth and seventh have a game in hand also. Other teams get their players back too and have been better than you. You may get past a couple of teams but not five.
