Fantasy Football

With the return of the PL, it is also the return of Fantasy Football.
I would guess many haven't looked at their team since early March, although transfers could still be made weekly.
It will benefit many to have a wildcard left, with quite a few players now available after being injured last time we saw football - Harry Kane being a notable one.

With the title potentially being done by the first weekend back, Liverpool could end up treating the rest of the season as a pre-season for whenever the 20/21 season starts. Equally, Manchester City may start looking ahead to the Champions League, expected to resume after the conclusion of the PL. Both teams, therefore could heavily rotate during the last few weeks of the season.

The schedule is hectic, for the teams still in the FA Cup even moreso. We could see those teams have little choice but to alter their team a lot game to game.

We already know the first game week back sees City, Arsenal, Sheffield United and Aston Villa play their game in hand so have a double week in the first week. 3 of them (Villa excluded) have an FA Cup game the week after, so it remains to be seen if they have a PL game the same week.

It will be interesting to see the schedule and how the game weeks are split by the game. This could lead to some frustratingly miss out on changing their XI or make transfers.

Just remember, though, if you win your fantasy football league it will be tainted.

With the Bundesliga seeing something like a 250% rise in muscle injuries since the restart, and considering next season looks like it will start within 6 weeks of the end 9f this one, all teams will have to use their squads to the fullest.
Liverpool will probably have 7 meaningless games in 5 weeks. I really cant see Klopp flogging anyone in the run in.
Without injuries I doubt Salah and Mane will play more than 55-65% of the minutes remaining.

Dont forget it is 5 subs now as well (in PL not FF)

Salah will be thinking golden boot, going for his 3rd on the trot I think. If he gets a few early goals no way will Klopp hold him back bar injuries of course.

Saying that if he has a slow start and starts getting rotated that’s a lot of FF budget to carry on the bench

They've rested for three and a half months, will play for around 8 weeks and then not play competitively again for 6 weeks?

Doesn't sound too bad.

It makes you wonder why teams have pre-seasons. Players can just have 15 weeks off then play 9 matches in 6 weeks like it is nothing.

I didn't say it should be the norm. I said it doesn't sound too bad, which it doesn't.

Will you chase 100 points over being best prepared for next season?

Why not? We are not in the FA cup or in Europe so we will get a longer rest.

So you could give your players a nice, comfortable few weeks to build fitness, avoid injury and be the team in the best position to start next season, or you could chase a meaningless points total by pushing your best players to play 9 games in 6 weeks with little match fitness or recovery time between games.

Hope Klopp goes for the 100, tbh.

I thought the official PL FF game would be back live by now as the first 3 rounds of fixtures have been confirmed
