Positive COVID result

So we have our first positive result although no mention who it is or if it’s a player or staff

We have been informed by the Premier League that we have received one positive test for COVID-19 following the latest round of testing at our Training Centre.

Due to medical confidentiality, the individual’s name will not be disclosed.

They are currently asymptomatic and will now self-isolate for seven days, in line with Premier League protocol, before undergoing further testing.

We shall continue to strictly adhere to the Premier League’s Return to Training protocol, which ensures our Training Centre remains a safe and virus-free working environment.

I have a question.

If the restart had began and we were due to play tomorrow would the game go ahead?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes as it’s only the person who has it that needs to self isolate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers.

I guess that if 4 or 5 first team players got it together the fixture would have to be cancelled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure but they could say that’s the reason you have a squad of 25 players I suppose.

Similarly like lasagnagate where we was made to play dispute having lots ill
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair point but I can't see any relegation threatened club going ahead with a game if they've got 5 of their top boys out with the virus.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then they’ll forfeit the game and lose 3-0.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then the Prems top brass will be in court room city!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doubt it, the clubs will know this is the case when they agreed to restart the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No club in their right mind (particularly those threatened with an unfair relegation) would agree to that nonsense.

Why is it nonsense? You can't just refuse to play because you have injuries

This is a rule that already exists. Clubs in the PL already have to abide by it. This doesn't need to change.

Simple really. If a player contracts an illness, the rest of the squad play without him.

It said, you can't refuse to play because of injuries. I thought he meant tbat if a player is injured they have to play.

My mistake.
