Once again, it’s all the talk on the news and in the headlines, following the sickening events in America and the unnecessary death of George Floyd
It seems the clap for the NHS is being being replaced now by the kneel in support for George Floyd...one wonders what the next one will be
Well, I won’t be kneeling, because however tragic and unnecessary this death was, I’m not going to jump on a bandwagon of using this situation of almost making this guy some kind of martyr or saint? Don’t get me wrong, I was totally appalled at what took place and the abuse of the police officers towards that poor guy, what a horrid and tragic way to die
But ALL lives matter, irrespective of colour, gender, age, faith and creed etc it’s not just about George Floyd...how many around the world unjustly die or suffer on a daily basis....millions I suspect
Why does it take an event like this suddenly jolt us into action, is it because it was so public, or that the media have begun to run with it? Are we just being played once again by the media circus?
To be honest, whether it be a clap or a kneel, it feels like yet just another heartless gimmick to make ourselves feel as though we’re making a stance...the truth is, we’re not really, in 3 months time...probably less, this’ll
just be old news, and be mainly forgotten
So, how do we make a stance...does kneeling really have an effect, or are we just trying to ease our conscience by doing something together?
I despise what happened to George Floyd, but no more no less at what happens in countless other cases around world when anyone suffers unnecessarily at the hands of those with power
And I won’t silently watch on as those who use this event to cause violence, or loot, or destroy property or vent their frustration unlawfully into somehow thinking they’ve a right to do this or that it’s somehow justifiable? Those that do these things, in my eyes are no better than the police officers in the video. Yet we’re made to feel or believe that it’s more acceptable for them to do this because they’re supposedly using this situation to make a stance?

Black lives matter is some kind of positive racism, - why do they matter any more than anyone else...& why do they need to keep telling us so
What if there was a white lives matter campaign...oh then there'd be trouble.
Same as things like the black actors guild, or the Black lawyers association...how is this allowed.

That said, BLM members yesterday said the NHS was racist against black covid patients in favour of white ones, so beware their message too.
Black people are attacking white innocent by standard and cops for the crimes of four cops, two of whom ain't white btw.
