Both players have similar statistics, with each player outperforming the other in certain areas, both offensively and defensively.

Dele Alli gets some unfair stick from some Spurs fans in my opinion, when he is racking up stats similar to a player that was sold for £100m, and all at a younger age.

It shows how some fans opinion`s of players can be swayed by a positive media spin, the scoring of the occasional long range goal and the shirt they wear. Dele does not get half the notice Coutinho did, yet is just as productive statistically.

We`ve got a quality player in Dele, we would be a lot worse off without him.

we definitely bent barca over for him, especially with the barca tax if they want to buy from us again. But they did owe us since they got Masch and Suarez for cheap.

Alli played practically as a striker so his stats from early days look decent. Hes nothing special now though.

Apparently the scousers have lost quite abit of money on PC as the bonus payments won't be met. Training ground development has come to a halt and they are paying for their new stand. Add quite a few bonus payments to the current squad for winning the prem plus a big rebate to sky and BT as they are shown the most, finacially they are not in great shape.

Everyones lost quite a bit of money during the pandemic. They will have to find a buyer fro PC first or take even more of a hit on him because of CV. Chances swung back in favour of him staying at barca, Bayern dont look to be interested in making it permanent. That or another loan and them paying his wages. Also the new stand was an interest free loan from our owners so not paying anything extra ontop of the loss of match day income like every other club.

Alli had that one great season that has really helped bulk his stats up for someone of his age. I think a lot of the (maybe harsh) criticism stems from having set a high standard for himself early on and it's a shame he has fallen way short of that since. I suppose the difference with Coutinho at the time he was sold for £100m is that he had improved into a top play by then, whereas Dele has continued to decline.

I really hope he can get his head down and start improving because he has many attributes to be a world class player.

Coutinho is massively overrated, he has been a massive flop in Spain for his price tag. Dele all day long for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yet he smashed spurs twice, both at Barca and Bayern?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Wasn't Coutinho part of a Liverpool side that got smashed 4-1 by Spurs with Dele scoring, and Coutinho looking like a pub player.

He was also part of a liverpool team that smashed spurs 5-0 at white hart lane then 4-0 at anfield 3 months later. Swings and roundabouts really

I think it's fair to say that neither player has gone on to be world class even though they perhaps should have done. At least Alli has 4 years on Coutinho to reach that level if he wishes.

Is there the impression amongst Spurs fans he’s become a bit too big for his boots? He’s started believing his own hype a bit after a couple of really good seasons?
