Ole needs to grow a pair and find a way to start both these guys in a midfield 3. He's constantly harping on about playing attacking, attractive football and taking risks yet he's too scared to set up the team without at least two defensive mids.
No offence to McT and Fred, they're having great seasons and defensively, they're solid, but from an offensive standpoint, they're both as useless as each other. There is no need to start both of these guys unless we're playing the likes of Barca away.
Take the game to the opponents and make them worry about what we offer. It's not like Pogba and Fernandes are a couple of Ozils. Between them they run a lot and offer something defensively/tactically.
Since Shaw and AWB offer absolutely f all going forward anyway (both were horrendous in the final third tonight), just tell them to stay back if need be!

True, although from what I’ve seen of him he looks like he has such an engine.
Couple times he covered aurier, won the ball back, played it then sprinted up the touch line into the front 3.
He could be Jose’s perfect footballer if he can do that

I can see why OGS didn't start both of them, Especially Pogba, Because he's been out for most of the season, But I hope he plays them both now until the end of the season.

And yet no one has, or would, make the same argument about Rashford. I understand that the midfield two/three is more of a unit than the front 3, but rashford was also missing during our best spell of this season, yet i haven't seen a single person say that he needs to earn a recall/play his way back into the team.
so i hope that when everyone is fully fit ole can find a way to make it work, because we get almost no creativity from our full-backs, so we sure need a bit in midfield.

McTominay and Fred have both had decent seasons but last night the weaknesses in their game were there for everyone to see.
You play your best players when you can.
