Arteta was an EASY option

The squad is plainly crap. If you got a world class manager in, the first thing they’d want to do is clear out the rubbish and get the players they need in. Even if You appoint an amazing manager, without action off the pitch they’d struggle to get this group higher than 6th. If Arteta isn’t given ability to change up the squad he’ll be doomed to fail, as would most managers. The best you could hope for with this group of players is turning the team into a consistent 8th-6th type club

None of our senior players have renewed their contracts in 2 calendar years.

I guess that's half the clear-out job done then.

Actually they all should have their wages cuts increased by 25% and extended indefinitely.

Recruitment has been way off for a while. Like Our glaring weakness is more on a defensive side, yet we sanction a huge move for Pepe. Pepe May turn into a top player for us, but can’t imagine many clubs in our position would spend 72m on a winger while we have other much more pressing problems. That kind of thing has been repeated for a long time

Arteta will have to be given time.

Think Arteta can go on to be a good coach. You were in some good form prior to the COVID so it didn't come at the best time.

He reminds me of Brian Kidd.
