Reflection....

Well, how are we all after a night to reflect?

I was not too bad during and immediately after the game; took in my own thoughts and a bit of time to reflect on where we are at. Still in a great position. Don't get me wrong, I am no happy clapper, but nonetheless, a great position.

Made the mistake of looking on twitter, then felt like I had been hit by a train. Fathers day ruined for everyone in the house. Twitter is absolutely toxic.

It is going to be a long week. Can we beat Fulham? Yes, of course we can. Will we? I think so. We have seen reactions before from this group, now is the time to see another.

I think the current gap needs to be maintained for the mental health of us and the squad. They don't want to let us down. We need to do our bit to not let them down like overreacting to a result like yesterday.

MOT all.

still haven't watched the game. got home yesterday and my idiot man city fan friend says too bad about leeds today. i was fuming but started to relax later in the day.
shot a good 78 in golf but was only wondering why leeds lost
didn't even want to come on and read about the game.because of saturdays results this setback doesn't really hurt us all that much but i would have been great to pad our lead. on to the fulham game where we should win.
guess i'll watch the cardiff game tonight just to see if it was as bad as a few on here have said ( i really doubt it )

I think we had enough (half) chances to win the game, if not two. Even Goodman at one point said that on another day Leeds could have had 5.

Yes, at times (most) the final ball was poor, but there were some good glimpses that we aren't a million miles away from getting it right. Paddy's goal line clearance! At 1.1 we'd have gone on to win. Tyler denied at point blank range (I think it was still 1.0 at the time). A dinked forward ball that Paddy just failed to get a toe on.

It will come good but must do quickly. We don't need to build the pressure on ourselves. A win against Fulham following a Bees/Baggies draw and the world will be a rosier place again.

Not that bothered about one loss. We looked ropey and unfit, our pressing was off. Once back to fitness we'll put it to bed, I'll be amazed if we miss out on promotion. Weakest league ever.

-----------------

I've read a few times people saying its a weaker league, I don't get it to be honest, what makes it a weaker league than last year?

a lot of top sides losing to lower sides? or having more inconsitant form? - I see that as a more competive stronger league?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The quality is shocking this year and all the relegated teams are poor. No massive spenders either. It’s there for the taking. Just because it’s competitive doesn’t mean it’s a strong league. Worst in years.

Brentford played a friendly before their game. Might have done us good. I dont buy we werent fit but we definitely didn't look match sharp

Exactly, led to the mistakes.

Not only that, before KP's mistake the defending, even from long throws and corners had almost been too easy. He was far too relaxed about that pass and we paid for it.

Leeds players looked very lethargic.

Was this due to:

A) travel arrangements to Cardiff without hotel availability,
B) no friendly warm up games before thus restart?

I thought the club managed to get a hotel.

I am pretty sure they stayed in a hotel Sat night.

Lack of a warmup game though could have something to do with it. Being fit is one thing, mentally tuned in to a proper match is another.

Thanks for the replies, seems they did stay overnight so throw the travel excuse out.

totally agree ref the spending by other teams, that would be a factor, yes.

that said, I didn't see too many players leave the champioship for the prem, leaving a gap in squads etc, Bowan, James off the top of my head.. there were a few that came to the championship, Ben White etc..

I can't see too much in squad differences to suggest 'its the worst in years' to be honest. its a popluar opinion I realise, you're not the only poster to say this. I just don't see why.
