Last season with a few games to go Leeds were 5 points clear of 3rd placed Sheff Utd when we had a home fixture against them. Win it and Leeds were 8 points clear and would have been odds on favourites for promotion. I remember thinking at the time just don't lose at least maintain the 5 point gap and keep the momentum in Leeds favour.
Well we all know what happened. Sheff Utd won, a 5 point gap was cut to 2 and Leeds never recovered and the promotion bid fizzled out.
Yesterday prior to Fulham game I was thinking just don't lose maintain the gap. The 3-0 win was such a relief. The gap over Fulham is now 10 points when it could have been 4. The lead over Brentford is 8 points when it could have been 5. Yesterdays win was crucial.
I'm sure the players experience of how last season ended is benefiting the end of this season. 14 points from a possible 21 guarantees promotion and that assumes Brentford win all 7 of their remaining games.
The hope, the expectation has ramped up after yesterday's victory but the season has to be played out and the points won.
After 16 years out of the premier league are Leeds finally going to return?

I was admittedly sh *. tting it yesterday, pre-game.
Even though I felt we'd deliver a bounce back game.
I was also thinking back to last season's melt down.
At half time, when Messiah pulled Bamford, I was
stunned. I said on the thread, this could be the season.
It was. But in a massively positive way. Genius move.
Adding Pabs and Gianni was a masterstroke.
When the third went in, I reckon we all exhaled. Once
that final whistle went, I was convinced we're going
up this season. After a night to think on. I feel even
more confident it's our year. Champions.

When Bamford walked off the pitch at half time, I remember thinking he looked absolutely shot. I think he'd run out of steam. He puts in a shift normally, but it must have been a double shift yesterday.
Hope he's not coming down with something!

He did work hard especially when he lost the ball in midfield and almost gave that penalty away. He tracked back and made the clearance.
Seems he had an ice pack on his knee when he was sat in the stands.
I just wish he would get off his phone at times. Looks like it’s glued to his hand!

to be fair, we both know what it feels like when we've bottled it, doesn't seem the same vibe now mate, fulham game on Saturday was exactly the game where the wheels come off normally, that last big game (not saying lutons, and blackburns aren't big games), but the Fulham game seemed like the pendulam.
Sorry Don, its coming home. will be hillarius to see Jose park the bus against us despite having a squad worth a lot lot more... you know it too don't you

coming up now surely. Liverpool won the league eventually and now eventually Leeds will be back in the big time.
