Jean-Kevin Augustin

So he’s gone back to Leipzig.

There are reports that we are mandated to sign him permanently for £20million if we get promoted.

Leeds are now backtracking and trying to get out of the deal.

Surely this is lazy journalism and not true? Even Leeds wouldn’t be that stupid would they?

Phil Giles and Rasmus Ankersen are co- directors of Football at Brentford. They have Lee Dykes as head of recruitment who was hired on May 2019.

With their resources they have done a great job.

Totally agree, good job - but would any of those signings get into our team?

would you prefer Janson over White for example?

"Our success rate in transfers is terrible. He is just another in a long line of:

No one had heard of him, which becomes "This lad is a hidden gem who will rip this league apart" and "we have really stolen a march on the other clubs with this one, great bit of business by the club"

Ends up as:
Never been fit in 6 months with us and leaves having hardly kicked a ball

Brentford certainly do a better job with their limited resources identifying talent, bringing them in and then selling them on for a profit. Even picking up discarded players from bigger clubs seems to work out for them...."

Funny how nobody has heard of him when they've seen him play,(admittedly only on TV!)but he is a decent player, the reason he was offloaded by Leipzig is he didn't fit in with his than new manager/trainers plans!..

A recurrence of an injury stopped him making a full appearance for us, plans were for him to help out in the run in where training staff and players had said he was doing great in training!..

Tell me any reason why he cant stay with us and be exactly what we're looking for, outside of those that really haven't seen him play that make him out as crap because they say so!..

I think he's better then people give him credit for, but, as usual the good old internetty thing gives people the power to drag anyone through the crap mill, and that's not always good, let it be our team that are being pick apart now!..

Or players nobody knows anything about!..

And with Bielsa's training staff he just might be what we're missing!..

find it madness this grass is greener ref other teams transfers.. you could prob name 5 or 6 players of our first team that would get into every other team in our league.

Ayling, is there a better RB in the league

White, is there a better CB in the league

KP, is there a better DM in the league

Pablo, is there a better play maker?

Harrison, Costa, - to be fair, these are prob on par with the best wingers in the league.. top players and have impacted very well - so well we are top of the league, and havn't been out the top two all season.

Beilsa, is there a btter manager in the league?

but yeah, aren't Brentford, Fulham, and West brom great sides with great recruiment

Spanish
White we don’t own and would cost estimated £25m?
Harrison we don’t own and would cost £8m?
Costa is going to cost us £15m

Look at the resources at Brentford
Ollie Watkins £1.5m
Benhrama £1.5m
Mbuemo £1.5m

Look at the players they’ve bought for £1-2m and sold on For up to x10 the value Recently
Andre Gray £9m
John Egan £4m
Chris Mepham £12m
HarleenDean £3m
Maxine Colin £2m
Neal Maupay £20m
Ezri Konsa £12m
Jota £6m

Would you rather have jansson for £5m or White for £25m?

The value Brentford have found is staggering

Are we committed to Costalot irrevocably? I hope we can wriggle out of this somehow - no way is he worth 15 mill. Is this more of Orta's great work?

Yes, Brentford's recruitment has been very good in contrast but I understand why Jansson had to go.

Kebab, all great points but I'm talking footballers on the pitch not squad and contracts.

it was project promotion, and recruited for that.

I know nothing about contracts and football finances, and I don't pretend too.

players on the pitch for me mate. I get your points though mate

to be fair Kebab

"Would you rather have jansson for £5m or White for £25m?"

in the premier, if I'm honest, White for 25...

buying Jansson is all well and good, but is he a premier CB? - do you think white will be a good centre back now? - and also 2 or 3 years time?

Brentford have a fantastic policy for doing alright in the Championship, but signing randoms from League 2 and the Scandy leagues won't work to the same level in the PL. They would need a strategy rethink if they got promoted.

yes Lubo that was my point.

whist the list of players they've bought and sold is great fro thier profit, imagine our fans reaction to selling players when they become good enough.

grass is greener!!

two very different clubs, Leeds and Brentford, very different ambitions.
