True last years champions beating last years CL winners and this years PL winner is a bigger story than one mid table team beating another mid table team.

Yup, need a clean sweep now.

you guys made the same mistake as leeds. letting a chelsea reject run your team. we're finally recovering from bates. lets hope you dump jose right away.
too bad you'll still have levy though.

We don`t need a major squad overhaul at all, we have the nucleus of a very good team. We need to go out and find a top class centre back, a couple of top class fullbacks and a top class central midfield enforcer, as well as some competition / back up / alternative to Kane.

That is 5 players, and you don`t necessarily have to spend a fortune if your scouts know what they are doing. Or potentially £150m to be spent, which Levy will not like one bit.

I have been prepared to give Jose time,he has not had a full squad to work with enough and there were clear issues that needed addressing.


However, last night was just bizarre. The formation and lineup was so ill considered. Sheff Utd are a team that put pressure on the ball, work very hard and defend in numbers.

It therefore made no sense to basically have a 2 man midfield and rely on pace up front. When did we get in behind them? and how often do you get in behind a team like that who defend in such an organised way.

With CBs of Dier & Sanchez, our CM was only every going to receive simple passes or the ball would go long. `

We were so incapable of effectively dominating play because we were so out numbered in the CM. One of them was Sisokko, so another player who is not going have the tekkers to run the midfield, leaving it all to GLC, who looked a bit lost (not surprised).

I applaud the attacking intentions - Kane, Son, Lucas, Bergwijn but feck me it was so ill-conceived. How were we ever to get good ball through the midfield and to the attackers.

The set up not only made attacking or controlling the game tough it also left us exposed at the back.

The tactics were bonkers. I cannot blame the players too much, there were some good patches in the first half and that disallowed VAR dont get me started! But for so much of the time the team lacked any sort of balance, ability to control the game or create good chances.

Defending was poor for all three goals but i think the team looked all at sea because the line up and tactics were so flawed.

I am not an <insert name> OUT! sort of guy. But i am losing faith that Jose has the nous to adapt to the modern game. That defeat was entirely on him IMO, his tactics did not give us a chance, compounded by some poor performances on the night

I'll go with this......
a completely new starting back four.
A backup for Kane.
And either Jose starts Ndombele or the player is also sold on.
I count 5 or 6...depending.
