Just Returned From London

Great session with the ole chaps.Track and trace in place.

Wee Nippy - Naw - aye - naw

It is what it is, Nicola - and why do you keep an eye on 'Westmonster' (terrible term) before releasing what you are going to do?

Let's face it - she is a muppet who just follows 'Westmonster'.

I can't believe (I do really) there are so many who buy into 'she's doing a great job'.

Idiots.

It’s a move designed to try and save huge numbers of jobs in the economy and trying to give the public a sense of more freedom and responsibility.

It does however involve risk. I have no doubt in my mind that infection rates will increase bits to what level is the key question and how we might be better prepared in a few weeks/months time.

But we have to try b

And here is where I get angry about it. Scotland through Sturgeon doesn’t want to. That’s fine. That is devolution at work.

But don’t sit back and whine, bleat and criticise at every opportunity with fwck all superior knowledge pretending you know better. She simply doesn’t. So in that sense she has no option but to sit back and wait and see.

And there is the crux. She has done exactly that and then followed suit. So the nett effect is that she has let others take the calculated risk and then U turned. Meanwhile she has destroyed the economy of the country that big bit more.

But it’s not being acknowledged by the people. For the simple reason the carnage hasn’t hit yet. It will.

Right that’s me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If only people would see this - my family in Scotland, too.

Everyone up there just cannot see beyond it being 'Westmonster's' fault.

It is the 'goto' when she is failing...miserably.

They did? That's surprising.
Is it past the 14 day quarantine period since then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear oh dear - is that what you are clutching to?

FFS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well given it is now well over the 14 day period you mention and there has been no spike in London then I guess so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

'well over the 14 day period'

Are you sure?

Have we seen the knock on effect yet?

Calling people 'snowflakes' who are concerned about this virus spreading is just silly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The first BLM protests were well over 2 weeks ago. That cannot be argued.

The stats speak for themselves, too. Again - that cannot be argued.

Not quite sure what point you are trying to make here..
==========

First BLM protests in London were 20th June apparently, is that really 'well over' 14 days?

So if you ain't got it within two weeks you're laughing, is that it? Good stuff.

There are second wave lockdowns all over Europe.
Leicester is in lockdown along with other places.
Yet we have crowds of drunks all over England last night.

But 'wee Nic' keeping the pubs shut is bad.

And the people concerned about this are 'snowflakes'

You should go back to the pub today to celebrate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I intend to.

Meanwhile - you stay indoors while Scotland crumbles.

I myself will go and put money into the coffers to keep Scotland afloat.

I have done my risk assessment and, will be grown up and not require to be 'molly-coddled'.

Enjoy your day.

Im not sure what point you are trying to make here.

You seem to be comparing loads of people protesting outdoors with loads of steamers getting pashed indoors.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Almost all the people I saw in London yesterday were outdoors.

Not quite sure what point you are trying to make here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no doubt that is a factually correct diversion.

However you were comparing blm protests with the opening of pubs.

Sorry Zico

But I see that as gross over exaggeration.

There are not huge numbers of lockdowns all over Europe at all. I know you didn’t say “huge” but I believe the intimation was there. There are small numbers in a small number of countries with England and Scotland being 2 of them.

There were not crowds of drinks all over England last night. Most cities were strangely very quiet and nothing like a pre virus weekend.

It is the usual case of trying to see what one wants to see to the point where the media actually went out desperate for this story. I’ve seen the pictures from Soho and Camden market. No different to many weekend.

The first protests in London were at least two weeks before the 20th of June.

Not that that matters. There is no easy right answer for what to do. Currently there’s 100 people a day dieing in the UK from COVID-19 I believe, that’s not good, but it’s also not so bad that we should stay in lockdown till we have a cure.

Japan didn’t have a lockdown and they’ve had no issues. Making it political is a nonsense.

Ginger, there are secondary lockdowns in Europe, maybe not 'all over Europe'.

Various news outlets report all manner of drunken misbehaviour all over England, with social distancing 'Non existant'.

Maybe the media are pushing their own agenda, I'm only going by what I'm reading.

It just seems daft after all the precautions recently that the Gov are going this way. (yes I know the economy)

I hope it is over, I hope we can go back to normality, I hope I can sit in the pub soon and get pashed with the mates I've not had a drink with in months.

Here's hoping mate.

Yep

I see it as a calculated “hope”. But we can only work within the risk assessments towards a brighter future.

Otherwise we would have no option but to let this thing run its natural course.
