Amazing how much a score line effects

Everyone’s perspective of performance.

Following the Luton game nothing was good enough. Side we’re lucky to be where they are and we’re going to struggle to get promoted.

A lot of credit has now gone to players for the performance against Blackburn. ‘Back to our best’

But if you look at the two games we played better against Luton. Controlled the game better. Created better chances. Much more solid in defence. On almost every aspect we performed better against Luton. Just didn’t take the chances.

Obviously taking chances is probably the most important factor but it doesn’t change the quality of the overall performance.

We have dropped more points than we should have but there has only been a a very small amount of games of the last two years in which we haven’t been the better side. Fully expect us to be the better side in the last 5 games too

Kebab, the Blackburn defender is hassled by Klich, completely misses the ball and this causes him to fall over. No foul but I can see how it might have been given. Blackburn given a free kick in an advantageous position leading to their goal when no foul was committed. We have two players booked in the first half, they committed foul after foul no booking, player dives in the penalty area, simulation, no booking, goal keeper commits foul as last defender and remains on pitch.
Really don't think we rode our luck.

Watch it again. Klich gets zero ball has his hands on the player and kicks his standing leg causing the player to become off balance and miss the ball. It’s a foul pure and simple

Their free kick goal - Phillips has not made an attempt to play the ball. He’s jumped turned his back into the player and I think it was a very good spot from the referee. One of his few good decisions.

Agree and already put on another thread about the referees poor performance in general and Walton should have walked for no attempt at playing the ball and being last man. The game was nigh on already won though at this stage Also felt Ayling booking was harsh and their centre half got away with pulling bamford back on the right touch line. He also incorrectly over ruled his linesman on a corner decision which went against us.

However it’s goals that change games. We were poor first 30 minutes yesterday and yet were ahead courtesy of a very poor miss from the referee.

Ref bottled it yesterday and the supposed foul for the free kick which lead to their goal was never a foul.

Agree performance against Blackburn was better overall. Too many individual performances were poor against Luton.

On another note do we have to sign Costa? Its looking a poor deal at the moment. Prefer Alioski on the wing

Regarding the signing of Costa, I'm on the fence. The guy has amazing ball skills and has both created and assisted goals but I'm not convinced he feels like a Leeds player. Not sure what those indefinable qualities are but he just seems a bit on the edge of things.

I agree with Kabab, what I saw to me it was a foul from Klitch!..

And the Ref should have seen it from where he was, that was a bit of the luck people always seem to moan about us not getting!..

I think we also need to get ale into consideration how well the luton keeper played.

He was class and easily kept them in it all by himself.

I don’t think many people realise how unfair football is as a sport. There isn’t a sport I can think of that allows the worst team to win as often as football.

It’s quite common for the result to not relate to the performance. But it’s quite clear that despite this people’s views on the performance are moulded by the score line more than their viewing of the game.

I get that this is probably effected by emotions as much as anything.

Also thought the ref was shocking. Can’t believe he didn’t give a foul against Klich for the first goal. Can’t believe he gave a free kick against Phillips for their goal. Can’t believe Ayling got booked and they got away with so many fouls without getting booked. Thought the yellow for the keeper was right decision though.

i though the klich foul was 50:50, it was hard to see whether he fouled him or I or not but I was surprised to not see it given - didn’t really see the player complain much though - more his team mates.

Inconsistent refereeing for me which drives people crazy. Called minor fouls and did not allow advantage many times. First goal was a foul by Klich for me.
