Greenwood

I know he's been talked about a lot, but I've just been looking at his goals again and I can't believe how lucky we are to have him. Hes a wonderful player and I mean now not at some future date.

I always tend to compare players and I've said he's similar to Fowler, but looking again he's not. He doesn't remind me of anyone, maybe RVP, I hope he has a career as good without the injuries.

Daniel Sturridge + RVP = Greenwood

Yeah I think he reminds me more of Sturridge than RVP. As someone mentioned it well the other day though - his rare absolute two footed ness already means his style is still quite different to any striker comparison

I've only seen the WOW factor at three previous English youngsters, Owen, Gerrard and Rooney.
Greenwood is now the fourth.

Sancho or Foden?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah

I've only seen Sancho for England though.

I have had this ‘wow’ factor for Sancho. Admittedly not for Foden but he has started to convince me with his recent performances.

Foden looks just as good as Sancho imo, maybe better in some ways, but has had a lot less game time. Both are very good players..

Greenwood is looking class.

Gets his shots off early, Owen was good at that. Technically he reminds me of RVP, has a similar balance and shooting style.

His mentality has impressed me more than anything.

It vexes me that professional football players should even be weak in one foot?

They practise every day and it wouldn't take a lot more effort to strengthen their "weaker" foot

As for Greenwood he could be a top player for. Us over the next decade of brought along right and can avoid serious injury, have high hopes for the young man

There are some similarities with RVP. The way he strikes the ball with both feet, with such venom reminds me of Forlan. But Greenwood does have a pretty unique style.

I can definitely see the Forlan comparison.

Im pretty sure it’s rare for left footers to be so 2 footed. Being left footed and very one footed I always seem to remember left footers to always be very one footed too. Messi’s the greatest player ever and doesn’t really like his right foot.

I read something a while ago from one of Greenwood's first coaches who explained how genuinely surprised he was at how well he could strike a ball and how much power he could generate at the age of 6 or 7.

One thing some seem to be overlooking is how well he has been handled my the manager. When Martial was injured at the start of the season there were a lot of calls for him to start in place of Tony. Ole did the right thing for Mason's development in not burdening him with that pressure. Ole deserves a lot of credit for the form we are seeing right now

Seems humble as well. I heard a story that he didn't want to go on the tour last summer because he felt he hadn't earned his spot. Best young player I've seen at united for a very long time.
