Wigan supporters have asked the EFL to clarify why they were placed into Administration even after being sold.
They have also asked them to look into the rumour that they were deliberately put into administration to get a 12 point penalty in order to collect on a bet that the club would be relegated this season.
The mere fact that this notion is not totally unbelievable is a sad indictment of the state of football globally.

I still don't understand how a club can be sold and go into administration weeks later.
In regards to betting, that seems a tad far-fetched to me.

I think the deduction will only apply if it means that Wigan will be relegated as a consequence. Otherwise, it applies next season instead.
