VAR........

What little faith I had left in it, has evaporated tonight.

So - do we think anything can done to restore fans belief in it for next season?

I know there's talk from Collina about FIFA bringing it's administration into the global fold - maybe that could solve it's woes!

Perhaps you'd like to lobby the League and FA to have it renamed Video Camera Technology, to make you're lame attempt to look smart, a little more creditable than it actually was!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would I want to do that? It's like you're replying to someone else. You can stop digging anytime you want.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You're the one who's got so badly mixed up in this in your attempted 15 minutes of fame - you can stop wriggling any time you want!

You tried being clever and it's back fired!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My comment was an honest comment. Your reply didn't even make sense and was not relevant to the point made.

That's all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

My compliments on your stoic defence on an untenable position!

Blimey, some people really should choose their words more carefully, especially if they are going to start accusing others of being dense.

As for VAR, never wanted it, don't believe it can help and always argued against it on the old site.

I hate the fact that I don't feel I can celebrate a goal at a game anymore for fear it will be ruled out due to a lace being offside. It hasn't removed the controversy or arguments around decisions and the time added on fir it is frustrating also. Plus I believe it will lead to more controls at some point, further delays and santisation of the game.

As long as the game is played and officiated by humans there will be mistakes, and long may the game remain human, there are probably just as many teams that feel cheated by VAR as there would be those angry with ref decisions.

In which part of my comment am I trying to be a smart ass? It was an honest comment and your blaming of VAR won't remove the problem you are crying about because it will persist even without VAR. At least with VAR you have a chance to stop it. So yeah, I think its dense to blame VAR.

Brum

Just checking...are we talking of the Utd penalty (which to my mind should have been awarded the other way as a foul)...?

Can I clarify what you mean by FIFA bringing it's admin into the global fold...where is it now (apart from morally corrupt)

I like VAR for what it is...but it's a bit too pernickety, & wants toning down on handball & offside margins

Good Morning Sheriff, yeah that was sort of the straw that broke the camels back for me.

It's not I have an agenda I have about Yoonited being gifted a penalty in this case, because as you know I can't stand Vanilla.

I just couldn't get how Stockley Park could look at that incident and come to any other conclusion than it should have been a free kick to Villa.

Before it's introduction I was hugely in favour of technology being introduced to prevent 'Clear and Obvious' mistakes happening.

Since it's introduction it's consistently failed to do that and seems more interested in looking for reasons to disallow goals that no one would have thought to question, I doing that that, it's taking an inordinate amount of time in some cases.

I'd suggest that if it's taking 2 or 3 minutes to come to a decision with all the technology available, then it's not clear and obvious.

With regards to the FIFA thing, PierLuigi Collina, who's now chairman of FIFA'S referees comittee wants FIFA to take control of VAR in an effort to standardise it across all competitions.

I don't think that's a bad idea as it surely has to be a plus for international football.
