Our dreadful form for 18 months across two managers who approach the game in a completely different way has me thinking that the players are the biggest issue. I think our squad is hugely overated. Its slow, unbalanced, full of players that lack the basics, and most importantly, full of players who have questionable mentality.
I genuinely think that the whole squad should be available for sale this summer. whoever doesn't wanna be here can go, because we will go absolutely nowhere until we get the playing staff right.
Kane included should be available for sale, but just for his own benefit, he must be wondering what the fack he is doing wasting his time playing for spurs.
I cannot believe that we have had 3 months off to sort out a way of playing, and the solution is winks and sissoko double pivot.. which we all know doesn't work, and has been proven not to work time and time and time again.
Lloris, who i am always on the back of, and wanted upgraded this time last year, has now become our best player, and probably the only player earning his wages at this stage, possibly Kane too for bothering to show up, and doing some good defensive work.
Looking down our squad list, i would keep the new boys Gio and Stevie B. Probably keep Lloris and Kane if he wants to stay, send Sessegnon on loan, and put every single other member of the squad up for sale and see who bites.
Very disillusioned, just as the club are emailing us about season ticket renewals, which they have actually had the audacity to increase the prices of, the cheeky caaaants, and think we need to rip this thing up and start again.
Am i being too drastic?

We have to remember Jose was bought in to get the best out of this squad.
He made a big song and dance about the quality in it and how he could get them playing great again.
If we are going to get rid of half the squad and rebuild we could’ve just kept poch and saved the £30m odd it cost to get rid of him.

It was always going to be in order of preference. Seemingly at Number 3 right now which i am not surprised with and backing Mourinho would still be sub optimal.

First off....there's no money coming from Lewis.
He's willing to see the club relegated rather than spend his own money.
Second Kane should want to leave. He deserves better support.
Third, I'd keep Ndombele. He's very good and hasn't been given the chance. Also Lamela and Sissoko.
The back four have to go, Aurier, Winks, also.
So at least 6 new players needed.

Shopping list:
RB - someone young, quick and can put in a cross. Aarons looks favourite, homegrown too and shouldnt be overly expensive considering Norwich relegation.
LB - same as the above, need quick full backs who are more effective offensively. Lewis also from Norwich has been mentioned but doubt we'd get 2 of their full backs in the same window.
CB - didnt really get the Ake hype, seems a tad overrated however he had a great game yesterday. A good age for a CB, developed well, good on the ball and the air, left footed too.
DM - less convinced every day that Hojbjerg is an actual defensive midfielder, but i would certainly sign him, looks to have good leadership qualities. Way things are going probably need another CM/DM too.
ST - this may have to be a loan. Forking out enough for a good quality back up striker could be a stretch, could even find ourselves needing 2 strikers. Reckon of signing players for this position is horrific.
Likes of Cirkin and other academy prospects coming through to give the squad a bit of life would be nice.
Hopefully Ake and Hojbjerg could bring a little bit of leadership and metal to the side too.

Not a Spurs fan, but if day this is probably what you need. Though you'll end up buying two, maybe three. Hojbjerg and Ake may improve you but I'm not on the hype train with these two. Though I think Hojbjerg could be cheap.
So in which order of priority would you say you need the players?
Imo, DM and RB are number one, then CB, LB, back up forward.

Agree but if we are proactive in the market(never are so kidding myself) we could generate something with players sales. 4 players really isnt asking for an awful lot no matter the scenario, especially when your side is in freefall in need of a overhaul

I agree with the general jist of your article Chronic. Pochettino called for the club to be brave, we chose to sit on our hands. Stagnation followed by a cliff edge regression year.
I honestly believe we have chosen poorly in Jose. He is a Chelsea legend, whom all and sundry knew his tactics have become out dated. He is a jaded version of his former self, having being constantly under the media spotlight. Should’ve turned his hand to international football a while back.
It will take additions of at least a top class CB, DMF and proper explosive WBs. Upamecano, Hjojberg, Chilwell and Semedo would do the job. However we all know we simply aren’t going to do it properly and Levy will be ultimately running around with his John Thomas in his hand 1hr before the transfer deadline.
It’s at this point Jose’s and Levy relationship will come to a close that is irreparable- if Jose makes it that long.
