The North London clubs

Do we see them competing at the top anytime soon?

Not on the wum btw.

Arsenal

They wanted Wenger out for consistently getting them top 4 with the odd FA cup thrown in but since they’ve got their wish it has deteriorated further.

Emery came in and it was looking good initially but in the end missed out on top 4 and a trophy. It was a promising 1st season but the 2nd season turned sour. Freddie came in for a while and didn’t look up to it either.

Arteta has since come in and it’s been better but he has a massive job on. The squad is not great and needs lots of work. There’s a few very promising young lads there but the majority of Arsenal’s players are not good enough to compete at the very top.

As a United fan other than Martinelli and Saka I wouldn’t be excited if we signed any of Arsenal’s players.

They’ve shown that they are willing to spend big on a player as they did with Pepe last season (who I do think will come good) but that squad needs major surgery to reach top 4 again let alone challenge for a title.

Spurs

Many felt when they reached the CL final that it was the beginning but I actually felt it was almost a last hurrah for the team. They had lost 13 league games last season and only scraped top 4 in the end as all the others were so bad.

They were well beaten in the final and picked up where they left off this season and the manager eventually lost his job.

Poch gets mocked for winning nothing but in reality he did a remarkable job at Spurs. He was consistently getting them into the CL and at their best they were a match for most sides in Europe.

It went a bit stale in the end and they appointed Jose. Jose had left United in the usual circumstances but when he signed for Spurs it looked like the glint in his eye was back and that maybe his love for the game was too. Initially the results came but that has since changed and both the team and Jose look short of ideas.

Like Arsenal there’s very few Spurs players you’d be excited to sign nowadays. Again major work is needed especially in the backline.

We’d have said the same about Liverpool 3-4 years ago but it’s very difficult to see either side competing at the top any time soon. Top 4 might even be a stretch.

Thoughts?

I actually do think Pepe will eventually be good. Arsenal got to fix their midfield and defence. Both are awful except the fullbacks.

Spurs is doomed the longer Mourinho stays at the club. The press isn’t helping his cause. Listened to one of his post match presser and they just kept egging him on. Lose lose situation for him unfortunately. The team is decent, just needs a refresh and get some new bloods in.

I’d say Arsenal is more likely to challenge top four than Spurs.

Such desperate wishful thinking.

Sorry I was actually quite drunk when I wrote that.

Arsenal are probably not done.

So we know what everyone is doing in the transfer window and where everyone will finish next season?!

Impressive, I wonder what odds Corals is offering on that? Worth a couple of quid of anyone’s benefit money.

The only thing guaranteed is Spurs will be 💩

Bookies won't give you good odds for that though 😢😭

We know that whatever Spurs do, you're going nowhere under Mourinho.
